Got mine this morning. The subscriber's cover is stunning, Keira has never looked so good. Even the newsstand cover looks great, I love the hair. As I mentioned before, the shot looks like something from a 90's fragrance ad. There's also Janice Dickinson by Mari Sari, interviewed by Ginny Dougary. Six photos of Janice being.. Janice.

Ack. The covers are really the best this issue has had to offer so far. The newsstands cover is particularly strong, but mainly I just can't get that excited about b/w photography. Even though the subscribers' shot is by far the more interesting of the two, succeeding in working with colors is just much more of a feat than a good b/w photograph. At any rate, UK Elle needs more color on their covers. Excepting this issue, their newsstands covers have not caught my eye in close to two years now.

Content-wise, I just can't get over the disappointment of seeing the cover shots reprinted inside, as so often is the case with UK Elle, and it doesn't help that two of the alternative three (whoop-de-doo) shots feature the same look (not to mention that someone apparently decided it would be a good idea to sit on Keira's hair after they got the cover shots). A feature on Keira though it is, if you're going to put "Tom Ford" on the cover as a selling point for a feature, I expect to see more fashion than this. 'Weak' I think describes this well all around.

Can't really think of much to say about the rest of the issue so far. Nothing really speaks to me and "Beneath the Evening Star" is just plain bland. I haven't bought this issue yet, though; maybe Welters will come through for me?
