UK Harper's Bazaar September 2008 : Sophie Dahl by Alexei Hay

source: zinio

"What the Butler Saw"
ph. Sophie Muller
featuring: Rosamund Pike, Lily Cole, Dinos Chapman, Dominic Cooper, the Metros, Mike Figgis

"...and the Beat Goes On"
ph. Chad Pitman
model: Masha N

"Faerie Queene"
ph. Roger Deckker
model: Suzanne Diaz

"Under the Hanker Chief Tree by Sophie Dahl"
ph. Alexei Hay
model: Sophie Dahl

The rest seem to be features/articles (actually Sophie Dahl's also seems to be more of a feature than a strict fashion editorial).

I have to say i like it, always thought Sophie is stunning intelligent woman but they could have done way better for September than this. The content sounds cool though.

Ooooh yes I thought Masha had an editorial in HB this month!

I HATE how they did Sophies hair...it ages her.

It looks like they caught her in the middle of something. Like her chihuahua was getting too close to her Hermes bag and she's just about to tell him to heel.

Punk meets Audrey Hepburn, well it was interesting to see it but... This mix of perfection and half-a**** chaos doesn't work all that well....and she's cross eyed too.

I got my subscriber's issue this morning, and this is one cover that works better with lots of coverlines, because without them, the focus is all on her face, but somehow, there's nothing to focus on in her face. However, the super-glossy fold-out Vuitton ad on the other side makes up for it.

It feels like more thought has gone into this September issue than UK Vogue put into theirs; their overall design is sharper and more exciting every month anyhow. I have yet to properly sit down and go through it, but I'm exciting at the prospect of getting back to this issue, whereas I haven't touched UK Vogue's September for two days now.

Lily Cole plays a stroppy maid in the Rosamund Pike edit; she has a face like thunder, she's the best thing in it. I almost wish she was on the cover, and I'm by no means a fan of hers.

The font colors are kind of distracting.

Kind of excited to see what will be in the British issue...I will have to wait a few more weeks, we are incredibly slow to get British mags in Texas.
Thanks for posting the cover!

I'm excited. I love British issues of magazines.

AND I hear that the Kills have an article in it. YAY!

The September issue and the best models they could get were Suzanne Diaz and Masha N??

Seriously?

I like the cover though. Very appealing.
