"Readers said that if they wanted a magazine with Posh on the front, they'd buy Heat," says my well heeled fashionista. "Some have even threatened to cancel their subscriptions."

Let's see if the sales figures relate to the number of complaints...

Even though people may dislike it seeing her on the Vogue cover, I think the sales figures are very high.

Yes, I can imagine this issue might have sold well - and if the subscription letter they sent me about March's issue being sold out is true, then opting for the celebrity of people like Kate and Victoria will have paid off two months in a row (time for a fresh face next month, then). I still see Kate as a model, first and foremost, but I'd also class her as a celebrity simply because of the constant media coverage she gets.

Though as for the complaints, I like the idea that Vogue's hard-core readership is writing in to complain about an always-immaculate married mother-of-three on the cover, but not a messily-dressed confirmed consumer of drugs. I have this vision of someone receiving their subscription copy over a breakfast of unfiltered cigarettes and gin, and exclaiming to their casual lover: "This is disgusting! Standards have fallen!"

I only buy UK VOGUE becasue I live in the UK, sometimes I dislike the coverstars/models but I feel that if i dont buy the issue I have let VOGUE UK down. I allways buy the UK edition and no other. But if I lived in another country, such as France. I would not buy UK VOGUE, I often think it is a little boring than VOGUE PARIS.

Daily Mail needs to let go, the irrational hate they have towards this woman is ridiclous, it almost feels personal since they crossed all the lines even photoshopping her pictures to create a story. So i am sure they exaggarated here aswell.

But whatever, this was a truly lovely UK Vogue issue, i loved the content and no matter who was on the cover i would have bought it,that Elson edit alone was worth it.

I guess celebrities really do sell more.

So a cover star they resented has been a success for them, I wonder how that went down, when the results of the experiment came in.
