I'm not loving the hair and the face on the cover, but still she is my favorite

I honestly think this is one of her best if not her best cover, and I'm glad it's a great shot on such a major publication!

I'm soooo happy Joan got the cover! Also, I'm shocked, this is the best surprise ELLE US gave us in a very long time! I like everything about this cover, but even if it was bad, I don't care - cause it's Joan!!

Always a pleasure to see models on the covers of magazines but this is very tedious. It's just.. safe and I do understand magazines taking a safe direction nowadays, I just wanted a little more when I seen the thread title. The Chanel shot is really nice and Joan does look fantastic here but still not enough for me to make a purchase.

That's quite a feat for Joan. For the record even Kate Moss, Natalia Vodianova and Daria Werbowy have not graced the cover of American edition of Elle before.

I'm totally digging on Joan and it's always great to see Michael Thompson's work.
But ombre hair is over.

Between the constant Christy Turlington and Cindy Crawford covers, I don't think Kate Moss ever got a look in, when it came to the front of US Elle.

Although, for me, nothing will ever beat Alek Wek's US Elle cover (beautyisdiverse.com).

I love that cover too.. And I love how there is no cover line trying to sell sell her on the cover. Alek is just there front and center being a model. No other headline needed.

Oh and it's crazy that Kate Moss hasn't been on their cover.. She's even been on a Cosmo cover which I find more far stretch. It's more of a strike against Elle tbh that they haven't had arguably the biggest model ever on the cover of their magazine.
