the buyer's cover I meant. The subscribers cover (which fortunately I will be receiving) is much better.

We all know that it'll sell, that isn't in contention - but that fact isn't fuel for discussion. For me, what's worth posting is why we don't like it and what we would have done as editor in an ideal world for this supposedly special issue.

I will never get Aniston's appeal (or why her face sells so many magazines)

granted, the subscribers cover does look better, but this, it's like a promotion for her not for 140 years of harpers bazaar....

i like the subscribers cover...and it would have been a nice cover for any of the summer months...
but not for a milestone such as this...
it should have models, it should be in the vein of the design and photography that harpers bazaar is known for...
it should NOT be a celebrity, i don't care what celebrity it is...

I love Jen, too! Of course a model on the cover would be the better choice, but I will never complain about seeing her face on any magaizne. She looks gorgeous, especially on the subscriber's cover.

I love jennifer aniston! I love her smile!
But I have to say that she almost has never had a great cover.
Back to this issue, the subscribers cover is waaaaaay better.
A surprised choice for this special issue, though.

I don't mind Jennifer gracing this particular cover, personally. The truth is, she's a fine representation of our current times, our fascination with celebrities. In 10, 20, or even 40 years, people will look to this cover for a glance at what we were interested in during the year 2007. Of course, not everyone likes Jennifer, but a large majority of people show a slight interest in her, and that's enough for Harper's Bazaar.

The subscribers' cover is so much better. The regular cover looks like every other picture we've ever seen of her.

i just bought this issue, it's on newsstands already in LA!
the cover's terrible but the editorials are amazing; there's a retrospective of fashion for each decade with sasha p, gemma, tanya d, freja, and lily d; an "american idol" spoof with amber valletta; an edit with chanel iman wearing several designers' looks; and a gorgeous couture spread with stam and snejana.
