I don't mind the concept, it is definitely a lot more interesting than the usual bland celeb cover everybody is complaining about. But Gisele looks like she slipped, twisted an ankle and about to fall down.

So the ediorials are: (?)

Lebron James with Gisele Bundchen.

Michael Phelps with Caroline Trentini.

Shaun White with Daria Werbowy.

Anton Ohno with Doutzen Kroes.

Jared Rome with Raquel Zimmermann.

Can't to see this! Great models!

If they were going to put a male athlete on the cover, why not Roger Federer????Especially because Anna loves him!

^^^ I would have preferred Roger Federrer!!!! Tennis is more VOGUE than Basketball imo.

I wonder if Anna will mention somthing about her affinity for tennis in the editors adress.

ps. when will this be released?

Now that is one ridiculous cover, it somewhat looks like a fake cover to me.
On the other hand, the editorials sound promising

The actual cover looks boring. It could have been better with a light color of background.

What an unfortunate execution of an appealing concept. Models + Athletes is a great idea, one that should work quite well however this isn't good. I don't like Leibovitz's Vogue covers in general - for some reason here aesthetic is more suited to Vanity Fair. When I looked at this cover at first I thought Gisele had mashed LeBron's toe beneath her high heel and he was screaming in agony. At first glance this shot seemed like an outtake more than a real picture.

That said I like that its a full body shot, that there is movement for once and that you get the sense something is going on rather than just looking a posed picture. I give the Vogue team an A for effort and a D for execution. I hope this is on the newsstand ASAP.

That sounds like a great lineup.

But then again, Anna favors them every month so I'm not surprised

You said it perfectly Luxx. It is such a neat idea, and I am interested to see the pairings inside, but what a terrible execution.

Maybe she thought she'd go with an American athlete since this is US Vogue and she's already using Gisele. Who knows?

The background colour is hideous and clashes horribly with Gisele's dress (which would otherwise be so beautiful).

nba obsessed

I don't think Anna cares. She seems to think that black cover subjects need to be a caricature of something in order to sell. Lebron and Gisele could have totally steamed up that cover. Why wasn't Gisele showing off that crazy gorgeous athletic body of hers anyway? That dress is a non-event.

I just had to see what the fuss was about....and I see it.

That's just a cheap looking cover. Change Gisele's outfit (which honestly is the best thing going for this cover) to a bikini or a miniskirt and this could be any number of cheesy mens magazines. It's such a ridiculous looking photo, their faces look like frat party candids on a myspace page....the kind of ugly that you weren't conscious enough to avoid.
