It's hard to be on the side of Vogue US lately. As much as I try to be an optimist (and fashion magazines are the only realm of my life wherein I even make such defeatist efforts) you can't help but wonder if they simply want to fail. They have no interest in innovation whatsoever, the cover choices aren't merely celebrity pictures they are unflattering, uninspired celebrity pictures. This year we've seen one bad cover after another - the only covers that weren't completely horrific were the Kate Moss and Kate Bosworth ones and those were drowned in a sea of text to the point where they were waterlogged with adverbs.
They hire the best (read: most expensive) photographers, have the ability to snag the top tier models and actresses yet they cannot for the life of them pull together a cover that isn't completely horrific. It would be one thing if editorial content made up for it but lately it just hasn't. At all. And every time I hear someone say Vogue needs new blood I imagine a ravenous Anna Wintour over a pile of corpses.

I do agree that she's boring and has awful style. She's ruined countless Caroline Herrera dresses and I still can't figure out how she did it .As far as the BranJenLina thing goes, for me it's not a matter of who was nicer/classier than who post-break-up and who deserves to get bashed. I don't know enough details to judge conclusively on that score but based on what little I know they all come off bad (some for the cheating alone, others for peddling their misery to the public). I'm solely talking about image here which is what counts most in Hollywood -- on that playfield Jen has scored an epic fail which she continues by, I'm assuming, "finally" speaking out about a yeaars old break-up. Kind of like how she's "protective" about her present relationship; a move that involves blabbing about it to Vogue. Honestly. I try to be sympathetic to this woman and she just... .One good thing is that she's convinced me not to consider that Michael Kors dress. The back with all those band just don't look right. And she does have "Marley and Me" coming out next month, my mistake . Since IMDB had it in her list as "post-production" I didn't know it had a release date yet. That's a lot better than "30 rock".Natalie Portman has had her share of Vogue US covers. She's a fine subject but she's also as predictable a choice as most other young, established actors. Maybe she just hasn't been profiled recently... You know who should get a cover? Frickin', Meryl Streep! Or Helen Mirren! Emily Blunt. But I pick Streep because she had one of the biggest movies this year and she has an Oscar-bait movie coming out. Give her some love Vogue . Or how about a model? That might raise some eyebrows.

![]() Because there is so many fantastic choices out there, why be so boring? And at least do something different and innovative instead of the same bland awful even dreadful cover images. So i pretty much feel like Luxx, its hard to defend US Vogue anymore, this year has been an absolute disaster for them, one terrible cover after another, so i'm buying it only because of articles and fantastic contributors in the actual magazine instead of fashion, which is sad. |

Jennifer you are beyond sad.
You and John Mayer will not work. Your "film career" is sparodic and virtually non-existent you are simply anna wintour's pawn to sell some copies after a lackluster year. Go away. Plus you have man face

Maybe Vogue likes to keep using the same actresses to promote an "exclusivity" that the magazine is famous for. A circle that you have to break into.
As much as Bazaar is nice, I don't take it seriously when they put Nicole Richie and any other star on its covers. You'll never see Lindsay on Vogue.

^^That is certainly part of it, but that circle should be broader simply because there are other out there that are worthy of their so called "exclusivity"!!
But it is ridicilous, because i never ever condone elitism or think its cool, we live in different times and i dont see nothing wrong with seeing someone like Richie or Olsen on covers, because its a nice change its when they are used to the point of overkill like Lindsay at HB that it gets ridicilous. |

Does anyone know if they will do a story theme edit like they have done with other December issues. A la Natalia/ Alice in Wonderland and Beverly Peele/ Snow White?
