This is one of the worst US Vogue covers i have ever seen, that is not her best angle, i mean even her whole face is not in the frame, and the close up doesnt work for her. And then there is the plain background, and all that text even more poping, just bad all around.
I want to like this. I love the fact the shot is a close-up, something rare for American Vogue, so I applaud that. But I dislike how incoherent the colours of the fonts are, against the cover shot. The text is too close to Rooney's face.
I think the cover is fantastic. It's subtly redefining the concept of "American" at the same time as it is reminiscent of some of the early 80s covers.
In reality she's just a Plain Jane and nothing more. Her moment has passed, it's unfortunate that she'll more than likely never be able to top The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. Anna, can we move on to more relevant and deserving actresses?
The cover shot looks great... So does the main editorial. I like how nonchalant it feels. However, I'm not really excited for having her on the cover. It sounds annoying complaining about that, but I really want to see Jennifer and Jessica on the cover, they definitely have a Vogue quality (if it exists ).
I think this cover is refreshing, its so different from the usual US Vogue cover although I'm not really excited to see Rooney gracing another cover. Please give us new faces! Posted via Mobile Device
Im so happy that it was shot by David Sims!
I love the editorial, mainly the last pic but she looks really sad (I agree, she looks more comfortable styled as Lisbeth) which is not bad but just not good for the american issue.
Imagine Jessica Chastain being the cover with an american flag, that woould make so much press after Zero Dark Thirty. But I really think they will wait to see who wins the Oscar to give the cover (should be given to both tho).
