I can't believe people are arguing over how worthy of a Vogue cover Emma is. She is clearly a rising star in the new generation of Hollywood. Her films do well financially and are well-received critically. She's about to be in a summer blockbuster and to top it all off she's an actress who cares about fashion. She has great style and pulls off just about anything she wears, not to mention the fact that she comes off as interesting and likable without ever embarrassing herself. I mean, if Emma doesn't deserve a cover then neither does Rooney Mara whose style is repetitive and who is about as pretentious and bland as they come. Of course there are other young actresses who also deserve to be on the cover -- Jennifer Lawrence comes to mind -- and their time will come. The fact is that there is a new crop of actresses who we should all get used to seeing on the cover in coming years. Emma looks beautiful on the cover and is very photogenic in general, so I can't wait to see the editorial.

^ Emma looks absolutely stunning. I think the blonde hair suits her well. And, you're right. She has a sophisticated and chic fashion sense.

At this point in time though, I really think it's an error to act like Vogue (and other fashion magazines, at least in the US anyway) are more meaningful than they are. Yes, they are centered around fashion, but for the past 10 years Vogue has really found it's place as a promotional machine for Hollywood. It's not hard to look at who was on Vogue which month and match that up to a movie that was about to be released. That's why the talk about "earning" a Vogue cover kind of bothers me. The only way an actress earns a Vogue cover is if she's pretty and in the right movie coming out in the right month. It's no coincidence that Emma Stone is on the cover when she's in a huge blockbuster that's coming out in early July.

love the cover. it has tons of promise.

they've caught Emma Stone at the perfect moment. she's still a "rising talent", but i can guarantee you that there hasn't been this much excitement in Hollywood over an actress since Cameron Diaz and Julia Roberts. she is the girl that the power players in Hollywood want for their films. and as long as she keeps one foot on the ground and doesn't get into any less glamourous habits - my prediction is that in 5 years she'll be the highest paid actress on the planet. no doubts.

That cover...what a mess! How can such a vibrant, soulful young actress look so flat?

Emma's spread is so confusing, to many pages for a start, especially since some photos look the same, few of those should have been cut, otherwise she shines through.

And that ed with Kloss just seals my love for the girl even more, fantastic! Never expect much from the July issues, but this one seems not to be a throwaway.

reading through the comments here (and lemme include other magazine threads) i sometimes can't help but wonder how something as relative (for lack of a better term) as gracing a Vogue cover can provoke such vehemently opined discussions and counter-arguments, with lobbyists left and right voicing out assumptions as to how exactly one is supposed to merit a freaking magazine cover.. goodlord. if the heckling itself wasn't so delightfully frivolous and escapist i wouldn't ever have paid attention to such asinine discussion. Magazines can be such a strange subforum to hang out in

on the other hand, i've always loved Emma Stone and i'm quite thrilled to see her finally land a Vogue cover, Spidey film or not :p love how sophisticated she looks in spite of the inscrutable expression. however, the ragamuffin Vuittonesque styling in the ed i can't stomach, good thing they decided to counter it with various slip dress looks. can't wait for Kati Nescher's OG ed

I have to eat my words when talking about the Karlie/Testino collaborations, because this is one of the best Karlie eds I've ever seen. I wonder who will be the first one to crop her amazing flower hair shot & use it for their avi.
