ohmygoodnesss!
at first i didn't like it, but its warming up to me.
I like how the models really don't look made up, so its a fresh natural take on models.

I mean the girls who really deserve to be there, are Anna J, Natasha Poly, Raquel and Lara. They are all relatively new and score most of the campaigns. Liya, Isabeli, Natalia and Caroline have had their moment. They've also had their US Vogue-Steven Meisel-Models Cover moment; Isabeli appearing on all 3 of those covers, right?

I don't find Liya or Caroline or Isabeli to be "faces of the moment". What does this even mean anyway? The faces of the moment as per the personal taste of Anna Wintour?

Personally, I would have prefered to see models like Anja Rubik, Sasha Pivovarova, Daria Werbowy, Jessica Stam, Freja Beha (even though I know not a possibility) and Lily Donaldson. They are the models that really score all the campaigns, covers and editorials. They should therefore be awarded accolades.

I mean, honestly, HOW many times must we revisit Natalia's story of how she came from poverty and married a Prince and blah blah blah blah blah!?! Same goes with Liya (as much as I LOVE her) - we've heard her story ten million times before!

Couldn't agree more.

I mean, Natalia and Liya HAVE BEEN faces of many many many moments ever since Tom Ford decided to cast them in his every show ever since 2001. That is like 9 years ago and counting. Natalia is way too seasoned to be called 'a face of the moment' which does indicate someone new and fresh. She is stunning, but when you think of it, Claudia has been a bigger 'face of the moment' these three/four seasons than Natalia.

If Natalia is on the cover, then why not Kate, Daria, or Angela? They are still more relevant than most of these girls - still booking more campaigns, if that is what counts. Natalia and Liya are really a stretch.

Maybe Raquel and Caroline are not on the cover, because VOGUE SIMPLY HAS BEEN WORKING FOR THEM as it is for the past I don't know how many seasons. How many pics of those two we saw jumping up and down and running in high heels and short Prada and Lanvin skirts? Anna Wintour has done her fair share to help these girls establish themselves.

That said, who the hell is Anna J to be on the American Vogue cover among all the rest featured here???

If they wanted to keep the variety of the more mature and new, they should have come up with a better mix. I like the cover and the beauty of all these fantastic girls, but if anything, among these, Liya and Natalia could easily be replaced with two actual new girls like Arlenis (she will be HUGE with Lancome) and Stam (the girl with some of the most remarkable campaigns under her belt like Dior, Dior Beauty, Bulgari, DKNY frag etc.)

It's funny how excited we are about US Vogue for once, and 'all' it took was a model issue... write that down, Anna.

ok i was wishing a bit much.
but, my main point is that some don't even deserve to be here...they ALREADY had their moments so others deserve to be here that ARE the models of the moment.

I know! It's 15 pages and all we have is the cover and nobody is complaining. I'm sure it'll be a celeb next month though, this is too good to be true.

Lakshmi in India. Stunning, colorful and just plain on point. Usually Vogue's travel edits irk me but this is a peach.

Quick Change Artist
Ph. David Sims
Fashion Editor: Tonne Goodman
Model: Daria Werbowy

Sims finally gets some backgrounds and he gives it to us. Best Sims for Vogue edit I've seen in a long long while.

The Great Pretender

Natalia as the greats of modeling from Dovima to Jean Shrimpton. Instant classic.

Two epic group shots one with Meisel himself, the other in the muse style.

I should contain my anti-Timberlake sentiments for a moment. Marc and Kate look great.

Kicking It!
Ph. Norman Jean Roy
Fashion Editor: Tonne Goodman
Models: Gisele, Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson

Models on the go and their fitness routines. Norman's work is always very pretty.

Models / Boyfriends; Chanel Iman & Tyga, Doutzen & Greg Andrews, Caroline Trentini & Victor Demarchelier, Anna J & Duncan Winecoff, Arlenis & Rene Rodriguez, Julia Stegner & Steven Pan

So many cute couples, can't complain!

There is also a model style thing called 'The Mod Squad' with a few girls.

true, but i also think that this issue won't sell so well..so a bunch of giddy tFSers..that's not a note that anna really needs to take heed to. i'm sure a lot of members here will buy it, but it won't sell so great amongst the vast majority.

I think it will be a very 'hip' issue - young young and young. Or people pretending to be young like Kanye and Marc.

Vogue sometimes gets a lot of blame for being too upscale, mature and established. I think with these many 20-30 year olds featured inside, and with 'girlie topics' like boyfriends and model round-table, this may very well be an outstanding and very different issue than usual.

True too, but there might be more international buyers because it's more models and fashion and I know a lot of tFSers don't buy US Vogue because it's too commercial so the sales might go down in the US but sales might go up in France, Germany, UK, etc. Plus, Vogue sells Vogue. Just because models are on the cover doesn't mean somebody isn't going to buy the issue.
