I'm actually a big Testino fan, but I found this cover quite underwhelming...because it's EXACTLY what I expected them to do (Testino or not).
I was hoping they would do something unexpected and edgy/cool, but I was wrong.

US Vogue is quickly becoming very predictable and boring.

I do actually like the cover even though I find the styling/text horrible.
The main ed is great though.

I love Carey I think shes so talented and lovely, the cover is pretty nice definitely better than many other Vogue covers this year, and I even though she doesnt look alltogether comfortable in the couture pieces she still looks beautiful.

Great for Carey and gret for Peter but this cover feels like a weaker version of Michelle Williams cover from a year ago. And the pattern of her outfit is not right for a cover. Her ed though looks lovely.

Oy vey...Carey/Peter/Anna what were you thinking?? Great idea on paper, not so much in execution. Why cant they pick the best photo instead of the worst for the cover shot. Puzzling indeed because I love the talent involved. Sheesh.

Its 1/2 and half.......i think people assume they have been on the cover before before because most look SO similar...there is little varaition between any of these covers.

I'm excited to see Carey on the cover, and I'm probably in the minority but I've loved her with the blonde pixie cut since the Oscars. I think it suits her, though the tousled styling wasn't the best way to showcase that. Sleek looks better.

What I don't get though is why they didn't go with a mod inspired shoot. It seems kind of obvious, no? I don't really like any of these pictures very much.

Carey looks decent, but I think they could have done a better job with her hair! So glad that Peter's doing covers for Vogue US again!!!

Ms. Mulligan doesn't look too bad on the cover, but I agree that she's not very photogenic -- she looks better in movies ("An Education" and "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps").

she looks adorable. it's just really bad styling. and i was hoping for a keira and carey cover (since Never Let Me Go is coming out and this i'm sure is gearing press for it), maybe even add andrew garfield.. but that would be unexpected from vogue.

happy for her to get the cover but LORD. she looks like a airbrushed disaster! what do you expect from US Vogue though? overly airbrushed painfully obvious pictures. thanks wintour, for butchering this beautiful young actress...

She isn't the most photogenic person in the world and while I don't like her hairstyle, I am glad to see her on the cover. She is a refreshing change from the usual actresses who are put on the cover. I'm also THRILLED to see someone other than Mario Testino shooting the cover, especially because it is Peter Lindbergh.
