Uh-oh, I know someone who won't be buying this: iluvejeisa!

I like Michelle, but she's like Marisa Tomei, maybe Samantha Morton.. you can try all you want pushing them into fashion magazines but their appeal resides almost exclusively on the big screen, they're so professional you (or at least *I*) just want to leave them alone.

Her Marilyn portrayal doesn't look too bad, they're definitely not identical women (and honestly if I had to choose, I'd go for Michelle's type of beauty any day) but it's probably the kind of thing that becomes so insignificant once you're watching the film.

I thought Vogue was a fashion magazine. This would fit Vanity Fair more. Frankly, I don't see fashion, I see costume. I know she's promoting her role/movie, but stick to fashion, please.

Oh she's playing Marilyn Monroe in the movie, so they put her on the cover in character. Get it?

This is so cliche and over done. And it doesn't look good either.

I really enjoy it when Vogue brings the film the actress is promoting onto the cover (Kidman as Satine and Dunst as Marie Antoinette are two of my all-time favourite covers). I wish they would have done the same for Portman while promoting Black Swan, but I digress. I'm sure this will look quite eye-catching in real life, but I have to say the most offensive thing about it is the colour scheme. Pink and red? Err....

Shots of Michelle as Marilyn Monroe leave me cold, but as a cover, this reminds me of the long tradition of making terrible, garish interpretations of her image, her cut-out hair and face becoming some sort of fourth-rate Warhol against the colours of the American flag. I almost like the awfulness of it.

Michelle is boring to me -- I like her on screen, but I have no desire to read her interviews and view her editorials. But, I do think this Marilyn drag works for October, Halloween, whatever...it's camp.
