the setting is just beyond in Klein's ed. The styling is also of a nice theme, i think this is my favourite editorial out of all shown. However this is up to now, and this can be easily changed when i get the magazine in print. Also i don't really like how Klein usually makes his models faces look so harshly edited, i just really don't get his aesthetic with that.

The Klein editorial is very typical of his work. I feel like I've seen it countless times in Vogue. But that Tim Walker shot is lovely.

LOVE this! So great to see Tonne doing non-celeb editorials. Thanks for posting, visualoptimism.

I was looking forward to see Klein's editorial, but I think I might be a little dissappointed. nothing very exciting here. what happened? is it Elson's fault? her face is so off here. I don't know, maybe that was the idea, but I don't get it. all the posing is just very slack and it looks so bad combined with Klein's style, which requires strong personalities, strong faces and expressive poses to tame the photoshop.

My problem with Klein's ed is the model choise. I love Karen but that effect will never work with her. Nice try and for once I love Tonne's styling.

i was really excited for the klein/goodman pairing but meh typical Steven Klein for US VOGUE. this could easily come from Interview. US VOGUE and other editorial centric magazines fail to showcase Klein's multi-faceted aesthetic. sour puss models shrouded in neon shadows gets a bit old.

however, there are certain angles and perspectives in the Klein/Goodman which i do like in some of those shot. Tonne at her best has a highly tuned sense of perspectives, shadows, textures, shapes, found objects and turns those details into an integral part of the story. her work in Bazaar like this Stella/ Goldberg ed or this Amber/Lindbergh ed are prime examples which still take my breath away. while i understand the concept behind the shoot there's nothing there that touches me on any level.

while none of the eds stop me dead in my tracks this is the September issue of US VOGUE which i typically buy out of tradition.
