Ode Couture is incredible. It's my favorite ed along with Girls on Top.
And they should've put Asian models on the cover. If they did this issue would have been perfect.

I love the close-up shots but that's all. She sould seriously stop using Mugler by Formichetti.
And "Ode Couture" is fantastic!

I was hoping Ming would be in Girls on Top, too. She fits into the spread, but her ed with Nick is gorgeous. Butoh in Black and China Girl are nice too.

i was going to buy this...if liu wen or another asian model were on the cover.

i mean, no offense to gaga, but V mag could put her on the cover for any other issue and it would sell. if someone like liu wen were on the cover, i would buy 2 or 3 copies. but instead i'll pass.

That Ode Couture story is ...amazing. Best story Nick Knight has done in ages, together with Johnathan Kaye on the styling it's remiscent of something from W back in the early 2000s.

I'm just left questioning why the hell she's on the cover of an Asian issue?

I don't care about the cover, I couldn't care less about this woman. Ming's editorial is mind-blowing.

Ming Xi's editorial is beautiful, probably the only thing I care about this issue!

Also, is Gaga's editorial their best attempt of what the Asian culture is? Black pig tails, some ornaments on her face and making her skin porcelain? All I can say is, fail.

I'm going to have to pull myself away from this thread. It's starting to infuriate me.

How disappointing that a special issue which has been "a year in the making" can't even produce a cover to celebrate it. That Lady Gaga is featured on the cover of V's grand "Asian Issue" is just f-king hilarious. 'Flop' doesn't even begin to cover it.

That said, as a cover I like it a lot, the colors especially; strong, yet they feel refreshingly unaltered (though I'm sure they have been). I was also going to commend them for not reworking her face in Photoshop, but that was before I saw the final cover - looks like most her real cheek flesh in the RHS picture has been slimmed off for the center shot.

Will have to join everyone else here, though, in agreeing that "Girls on Top" is absolutely terrific.

Preview covers are good, but I don't like the cover with 3 heads, the background makes it even more uninteresting, though there's some "ok" shots in GaGa's editorial. I'm not interested in the rest.

Can mods add Summer 2011 in the title? TIA

Wonderful editorials!! Ode to Couture is gorgeous
I am getting sick of Gaga, don't like the cover at all zero original, that is what Gaga is doing running out of originality in style, one day she'll have alredy exploaded all
