he looks nearly identical to this lesbian girl i work with. it's uncanny.
.
i hope that once he starts to grow out of the teeny-bopper phase, that he embraces his androgynous features and goes all glam-hip-pop. he could just kill it!

Truthfully, I'd take 100 Justin Bieber covers over a cover with a dead Kennedy on it (also, Ted Kennedy hasn't recieved his post-death cover yet, I think he'll get one this year).

I actually don't mind the cover, it's nice. The choice of him in the turtle neck is odd but they probably didn't want to have him shirtless in an image like that because he's still pretty young.

He does have very feminine features, but that doesn't bother me as much as the fact that his hair looks like a helmet in these.

The cover is kind of nice. I don't like that the lipstick kisses are so symmetrically placed on his neck, but that's my only complaint.

And I don't really get why it's ok to put Gaga on the cover yet people are so outraged (not TFSers but on other forums) about Bieber being on it. He's a phenomenon, he's hugely popular and it doesn't really matter that it's mainly amongst 10-17 year old girls. I'm sure many of the older VF readers don't listen to Gaga's music either I think it's interesting to read about these artists because it's usually not just about them as a person but the current pop culture as a whole.

I'm in love with it. Cute and hot. I like it but the text is somehow dull and weird

the cover is cool and I haven't even heard a single song of his but I find him uninteresting but the editorial is deja-vu but I guess I can't expect too much out of Vanity fair these days..

Justin Bieber is hugely popular, to the point of phenom status, and as such is a worthy cover. I don't doubt that this cover will sell, I just don't care for the cover and the ed, just like the ed with Kim Kardashian, and that one couldn't even manage to be offensive, the execution of the print stories are so watered down and bland. The pictures of him being a kid (the pool and croquet photos) actually work.

I think that rather than looking to Elvis or the Beatles for inspiration, they should be looking to young Michael Jackson, New Kids on the Block, NSync and others - heck even footage of Bieber himself, because when I have seen him perform and at appearances, he has considerably more spark and presence than the eds I have seen him in would suggest. I am intrigued about the comment that someone made about glam rock, but I would not want to see that attempted if it could not be pulled off.
