So does this mean that you are going to get the issue and add it to your other Bieber memorabilia?

they picked the wrong issue to stop hiring dead celebrities for their covers.

Extracts from the interview:
Quote:

Justin’s mommy on her belief that God’s Gift to the World isn’t peace or a cure for cancer…it’s The Bieber: “Bieber’s mom, Pattie Mallette, tells Robinson that, after a personal encounter with God, she believes that she and Justin have been put on Earth to bring light and inspiration to the world.
Justin on being the Lord Byron of bubble gum pop: “I’m crazy, I’m nuts,” Justin Bieber tells Vanity Fair contributing editor Lisa Robinson. “Just the way my brain works. I’m not normal. I think differently—my mind is always racing. I’m just … nuts. But I think the best [musicians] probably are.”

Justin on being the Fairest in the Land – “Not trying to be arrogant, but if I walked down the street and a girl saw me, she might take a look back because maybe I’m good-looking, right?”
Justin on knowing that girls will sell kidney’s dump their boyfriends to see him sing: “For younger guys, it’s like [they think] they’re not cool if they come to my concert. That’ll [change], I think; it’ll happen, maybe when I’m 18. But meanwhile all their girlfriends are coming to watch me.”

-hollywooddame.com
And this is why 16 year old's with inflated ego's should not be interviewed, let alone appear on the cover of Vanity Fair.

I am intrigued to read the Wikileaks feature though, and to see what spin VF is putting on it.

This is so Teen Vogue. VF -> FAIL.

I'd love to see the look on the faces of the average VF subscriber when this comes through their post box.

Thanks Vanity Fair, I didn't laugh so bad in quite a time. This cover and shoot is definitely the best way to start the year.
I mean look at the turtleneck shot, and the shirtless one with checkers
I'm not offended to see Bieber on the cover, thats logical in a way. But this story looks like a big joke. It looks like an advertising for Ken dolls or a new version of Playmobil.

I'm sure Bieber fans (and their mothers) will appreciate this article, but I sort of wish the kid never opened his mouth. He thinks differently? right.

well my first thought: JB for VS is really random, but turned out I enjoying the cover and editorial. Those shots are nice

He looks like a female all of the time, albeit a female with a very bad haircut but a female nonetheless.

Oh Lord I bet the rest of that interview is mindnumbing.......I will give him the benefit of the doubt being that he's only 16, but from the preview.....what a load of old twaddle. 'to bring light and inspiration'
Anyhow the thought of girls or in fact anyone, swooning over him is enough to make me barf. Inoffsensively silly cover I suppose.

I just puked, excuse me.
Even if the shots may not be that bad as I want them to be, his vain, self-centered personality makes me barf. That this issue will probably sell like crazy (good for VF) is just the example that good taste is still dead.

Going to deck myself in beforehand and politely say excuse me for that last comment I made if anyone takes offence.

Bieber getting a VF cover, God help us all. What's next, Miley on Vogue Paris?

You know what. It isn't a dead celebrity, it isn't an overexposed actress, it isn't a political figure from 1960 - 1965. I do not mind this. Every so often VF delves into teenage culture, remember their issue with the WB kids, or profiling Leo DiCaprio back when he was more of a pinup than an actor? Bieber is a phenom and he was bound to wind up on the cover of a big magazine at one point - this cover is kind of cute and dorky, doesn't take itself very seriously and that kind of lightheartedness is something the often stodgy and self important Vanity Fair could use more of. Very fun way to kick 2011 off, I like it.
