Vogue Australia September 2007 : Alice Burdeu (AusNTM) by Troyt Coburn

I don't know what she's done besides win a competition and great a little controversy... Mind you I didn't even watch the show and neither do half the people I know.

I saw the cover somewhere, but I can't remember where. It's not bad... Will search for it and post it up asap.

Here's a piece from one of the Sydney papers though.

Quote:
LESS than two months after being crowned Australia's Next Top Model, Alice Burdeu has scored herself the prestigious front cover of Australian Vogue.

It's a credit on the resume that many models can only dream of.
"I can't believe it,'' said Burdeu, whose time on the Foxtel reality TV series was marred by speculation about her weight. "I am just overwhelmed by it.''

The September issue of Australian Vogue is due out on Wednesday, featuring Burdeu in a Gucci silk crepe dress and Bunda jewellery.
With her hair dyed auburn, the 19-year-old portays classic 1940s Hollywood glamour in the shoot.

"It was my first thing outside the show, so it was really wonderful,'' she said. ``I can't imagine that it could honestly have been better than this.''
Producers of Australia's Next Top Model were criticised because of claims that Burdeu was too skinny and set a poor example for teenage girls. But the model has always insisted that she is naturally skinny.

"It was hard at the start because I wasn't used to it,'' said Burdeu, who still lives with her parents in Melbourne.

"People are always going to comment on things like that. I think I am pretty good ... I mean, I could probably exercise a lot more, but it's hard in winter.''

Photographed by Troyt Coburn in one day, the eight-page spread was shot at a private Sydney mansion.

Burdeu also dons glamorous outfits by Alberta Ferretti, Roberto Cavalli, Christian Dior, Calvin Klein, Nina Ricci, George Gross, Collette Dinnigan, Toni Maticevski and Prada.

Burdeu's Next Top Model prize also included a job as the face of Napoleon Perdis cosmetics for 12 months.

She's been booked to strut her catwalk stuff at the David Jones season launch next month.

Grr...with the thread I was hoping for a cover...I don't want to have to wait til Wednesday! *stamps foot*

I don't particularly like that shot of her and I like the auburn hair, but I still prefer that strawberry blonde from early in the show.

Naomi, Nicole, Kylie and Gemma have been on the cover on Vogue Australia. Alice won a Vogue editorial as part of her prize and deserves to be on the cover.

I think its a smart move, another Australian celebrity would of been stupid.

Australia Vogue is one of the WORST. Perhaps the worst.

This is a great choice...well we'll see the editor can never do her job properly.

Oh please

Those are not the only Australian celebs and models who deserve a September cover. Not to mention all of those except for Catherine, already HAVE Aus Vogue covers. As a reader of Aus Vogue, I would be pretty pissed off if any of those were on the cover (except Catherine).

Give me Alice any day.
