Soooooo boring! Gosh nothing is exciting here: the image, the cover subject, the cover lines, too much blue = nope, not a good one which is really bad on their part since this magazine doesn't come out every month so the very least would be to knock our socks off, and they did not. Waiting to see the previews of the editorials, but yet again I won't buy this.

I was expecting something more than this. The colors are bland. It doesn`t fit the cover shot. The cover shot doesn`t look appealing. YES, he looks good but that`s just about it. The text is annoyingly cluttered. The fonts are weird.

I was expecting something sexy and something new since it`s the start of a new helm. Well I guess it`s not

So is this Emanuelle's first VHI issue? or is there someone else as editor-in-chief of VHI

^I think it's Lalanne who mostly oversee the editorial direction of VHI and according to Wikipédia France, he's the EIC since 2006.

I really like the cover. Jamie looks better than usual, imo, and I like the blue.

Review
* sorry for most of models' names but I'm really out of it ...

Les classiques by Mario Sorrenti and Robbie Spencer
Hair by Bob Recine, Make-up by Aaron de Mey
- Lovely editorial. Very Spencerish on white background. Main trends of the season become sculptural or living objects, as you wish.

Le cuir by Alasdair McLellan and Beat Bollinger, ft. Simon N.
Hair by Syd Hayes, Make-up by Lauren Parsons
B&W serie, featuring leather and cigarettes

Terry by Terry Richardson and Andrew Richardson, ft. Terry
Terry leaves his famous square shirts and blue jeans for tuxedo and pimp looks.

Teen Spirit by Willy Vanderperre and Panos Y
Hair by Olivier de Vriendt, Make-up by Georgi Sandev
A young boy wears a lot of Givenchy and sort of granny hermes foulard prints and Versace prints back in the 90s, with a lot of customisation by Panos and his studio team.
The set is by lakeside and its flower flore (what is flore in ENG?).
Dark atmosphere.

Le costume by Horst Diekgerdes and David Bradshaw
Hair and make-up Matt Mulhall

Le Portrait by Andres Serrano and Anastasia Barbieri
Hair by Thomas Dunkin, Make-up by Franck B

Le genre by Maciek Kobielski and Darcy Backlar, ft. Le Tigre's JD Samson
Hair by Pasquale Ferrante, Make-up by Niki Manray, Manucure by Megumi Yamamoto
Watch and boyish look.

"Are we doomed to endlessly rehash the ghosts of the past?" Writes Olivier Lalanne , the editor of Vogue Hommes International Paris, in the editorial of the issue of the fall-winter 2011-2012. Implicitly, the nostalgia haunts the pages of glossy paper, like a message of love sent to an old memory. "Do not imitate, re-invent you! Reinvent, period," declares Olivier Lalanne , as if to lift the veil on the ambition of the number 14 where there is no question of reveling in the melancholy of a bygone era but otherwise be inspired to find emotion. Proof of this is the series of fashion magazine that reinterpret the suit, leather and David Armstrong and to Alasdair McLellan retrain in a new and unknown that it will re-tame. Cover, Jamie Bell , immortalized by Bruce of ballet slippers, the adult child embodies the will of the magazine to look elsewhere for role models for the future. between Terry Richardson and Michael Stipe (REM leader), the manly look of Playboy Ryan Gosling , captured by Inez & Vinoodh , proudly fathom the reader like a Steve McQueen or Dennis Hopper Curl. Helmut Lang , Maurizio Cattelan, Yves Saint Laurent , Rei Kawakubo ... Icons devoted leave the eternal stigma of their genius over the letters and images of Vogue Hommes International Fall-winter 2011-2012

^Thanks for the review, intrigued to see Les Classiques but most looking forward to seeing Le Cuir and Terry. Doesn't sound impressive though overall, does the cover look better in print? As it looks bit of a mess especially with all that type.
