Well, I'm happy that she got the cover, because Gauri is usually in her husband's shadow. The edit is beautiful, but the cover...hm.

not so fond of the cover though the dress is nice, i think that kind of cover would have been pulled off by a more edgy model. Not too keen on the direction Indian vogue is taking

Oh no I hope they don't keep the white background thing. Its just not as enticing as the other covers.

I kind of hope Aishwarya Rai doesn't get one, but that's wishful thinking. I would love to see ALL the different types of beauty that India has to offer, not just the ones who look European, which is the direction Vogue India seems to be going in.

Exactly! Although Aish is gorgeous, I'd really love to see girls who are darker-skinned and not as Aryan-looking, you know?

I'd heard about Vogue's photoshoot with Gauri in a newspaper, but putting a socialite on the cover of a high fashion magazine is just nonsense. I kinda like the simple red with white background cover...much better than December's nightmare. Still not sure i wanna subscribe to Vogue India...too erratic, still finding its space....
