i think it's still a little disheartening that vogue italia has dedicated their entire issue to black models, whereas the us vogue has only limited to a small piece.

It is a bit, but I'm sure the Wintour will see later on.
Probably she will shoot more black (and asian) models
next month (hopefully not by Annie Leibovitz)

^ Don't bet on it, it's endemic to her, she does flashes of publicity such as a diversity issue in early 2000 where she defends diversity by naming Gisele (100% German) as a South American sensation. She plays the game but doesn't mean it, you don't need an entire issue to promote diversity, isn't one layout enough? Look at the 1980s when US Vogue was very diverse.

Are you serious she said Gisele was diverse? German is the biggest ethnicity in the US so she really isn't diverse by a long shot. And I thought Ana wanted to do one of these Black is Beautiful issues too?

i love the foldout covers! although i wish there wasn't the huge 'the black editon' lettering on the cover; to me it makes the black models even more segregated from the white models. like others on this thread, it would make me even happier to have models of all ethnicities on a 'normal' issue of vogue italia, than to have a special issue.
