All these girls had momentous things happen to them

Naomi- nuff said
Liya- Estee Lauder (1st black girl), US Vouge cover (given to a model, and a model of color....Unheard of), French Vogue issue dedicated to her
Jourdan- First black girl to walk Prada. She has risen from having lackluster succes to being featured in the 4 most important fashion publications. (French, Brittish, American and Italian Vogue) Great Runway Season!

Sesilee- Kanye West video???????

Edit: And its not that im trying to pick at anyone and talk about who deserved a cover. If VI had a cover with Linda E, Giselle, Stam and then they had Skye S one. I still would be like " Are you kidding me?"

i'm really impressed by Sessilee's cover. i think the covers overall are stunning and classy, though i'm not really liking Naomi's. they could've done a lot more with hers.. I can't wait to see the content, and i'm also hoping it's a fold out cover because i can't afford to buy them all.

What a breath of fresh air. After comments by Nick Knight regarding the difficulty getting models of color in ad campaigns it's wonderful that Franca Sozzani and Steven Meisel took courage in getting an issue dedicated to the model of color - black model. Now a September issue would really be a coup )

^Hysterical! Anyhow,I don't really believe I've seen Sesilee like that(like a Jourdan or a Chanel). BTW,Jourdan was the first to walk for Prada in awhile...but its been done before.

the covers look weird though, like the vogue strip is in a black banner and not blended into the cover image. but i do like jourdan's the best.

However I was expecting Alek to get the cover. Tired of Naomi's plastic face. for Seseilee, she deserves it and what a privilege to be picked by Meisel and introduced to the world of fashion as a "new face". Jourdan shines!

Yes dahling...I know the one and only Miss Omi did it first. But c'mon almost 9 years???? Liya, Alek, Yasmin didn't move Miss Miuccia, so Jourdan obviously has something going for her!!!!

This is irrelevant when it comes to italia vogue - Meisel likes Sesilee so she gets the cover, simple as that Many recent vogue italia covers feature girls who haven't done much top work - or even make their debut with the cover of the magazine. They have a nice mix of girls I feel.

I like all the covers, esp Jourdan + Naomi's
