Well I'm glad Steven, like myself doesn't see it that way...Naomi's 20 or so pages will be the first thing I look for.

I dont like Naomi Cover. I think she looks odd... her behavior just disgusting and outrageoous....her recent public candids are not impressive....... especially ones next to CLaudia Schiffer, who looks so much better.... but agree NAOMI is NAOMI and there will be no other NAOMI... and even she does not shine at the moment with her looks... for me she is still the best black model and I guess so will remain.... surely first thing i look at will be her editorial bcos simply by far it looks the best... there were many Sessiles.... Chanel Imans.... Georgina Robertsons... even Tyra Banks.... but not Naomi... she is the only one and super super super one.... and let's dont forget if black models are getting as much space as they do (which i personally believe is minimal) it is highly her contribution as well...

Well I think that was a bit extra,b/c I've seen her lately & she looks just fine(better than many of the girls she came up with) and I don't find her outrageous or anything of that nature! But we all have our own views, jokes.

i have it right here on my desk. i think that naomi does not look good on the cover, but i think that her editorial inside is nice, classic meisel, rich and luxurious location, lots of nudity, maybe too much. she does look great in the editorial inside, and i am not a real naomi fan. the whole issue does look nice, for me a 4 on a 1-5 scale. i kind of question the "black issue" i mean why not give black and ethnic models more visibility always, and not just put them all inside a black issue. i don't know, it just seems to me to make a ghetto for them. we need to have more integration in general, and especially in advertising and fashion. how does everyone feel about this, i have not read the whole thread, maybe it was already discussed.

So,Blacklab the fact that they made the 'black' issue knocks it to a 4 or was there something you didn't add that doesn't make it a 5?! BTW,oh yes as I've said the cover could've been better but its not bad. But her edit from the other photos of the girls I've seen looks the best to me.

And does it only feauture advertisements with black models? I guess that would be impossible but it kind of disturbs the idea of an all black issue because the the ads are much more featured (pages) than editorials (usually).

Good question. BTW,Black how many pages is the Naomi edit exactly? And how is Iman featured? Were there any surprises as far as people inside that weren't named on the cover?

no of course the fact that it is a "black issue" does not make it a 4 instead of a 5, that is actually kind of offensive that you would insinuate that! i personally do not think that itallian vogue looks like a 5 out of 5 ever. i think it generally is a 2 or a 3 at best, so for me to give it a 4 is a big compliment coming from me. i think that the editorial all in general look very nice, the styling is beautiful and the whole issue seems to flow. it is mostly shot by meisel, who like him or love him, is a genius. and yes as i said naomi's editorial looks great, although i personally do not think that she looks great on the cover. i just don't like the shot. as for the advertising, of course it is not all black models. it is also very nice the fold out cover so there are 4 covers in all.

i haven't had that much time to really look at it, but the naomi editorial is very long i would say 15 -20 pages.

No,I didn't mean that in a bad way...I only said that b/c you gave it a 4 and you didn't say why other than 'its kinda ghetto' or whatever or a suspicious move by Vogue. The undertone was kinda somber. But I think I get what you were saying like 'why not all the time' but you didn't close it out. Your last post however clears it up more.
