Yup, that's true..and also it has opened other doors because Chanel Iman got a Korean Vogue cover, Arlenis got a German Vogue cover, JOurdan got a UK Vogue cover, Liya was on the cover of US Vogue (again). So idk, maybe you're just not looking enough, Madame.

I'm just disappointed that Sessile isn't getting more recognition than the other girls! Also, none of the black or asian models are in any of the major ad campaigns for spring or fall this year.

I said it was upon us. But anyway It was the July'08 cover and it came out in June.

Well, the concept was recently on my mind as well - what has happened since that issue came out.

Breathless has made a good point about ad campaigns - in terms of magazine work, things have improved, but has there been any serious shift on the advert side of things?

Yes, that is a good point. I really wish a Fashion would break the mold and use a model like Sessile. I could see her in a lot of campaigns this upcoming season, like Marc Jacobs or PHI.

well, on the campaign side..Sessilee got Tommy Hilfiger this season and Jourdan got CK.

I believe there have been some changes in the industry as a result of this issue.....albeit very small steps.

I never expected Vogue Italia to keep it's promise, and therefore I'm not shocked that there hasn't been a black girl on the cover since last July.

The menswear shows were very diverse, one can only hope womenswear will follow.
