My problem with this is,would she have gotten the campaigns and this cover without her stint in rehab? She ws sorta out of the spotlight before,no?That's what upsets me.

When you've seen one Mile Aldridge ed you've seen them all. Always the same colouring, same poses, and he makes the models look identical. NEXT!

When was Eva Mendes in rehab?

I love the cover and I love Eva Mendes.
It looks very Sophia Loren-ish!

The whole Meisel ed features Eva? I always look forward to know which models will be on it and now a celebrity, it's a nice cover though.

I can't hate on Eva neither. She's beautiful, talented, and she adds a little flavour because of her personality. She mostly chooses roles with women in tough situations but she's the same glamorous girl outside her movies. I wanna see what Meisel does with her.

Anyway. LOLVogue needs to work on the Aldrige shoot. Only takes time.

Eva on the cover is like a WTF? We are all tired of Lohan and Britney, but Eva is not a great actress, not that much of a celebrity, not that much of a fashionista, not that much of a scenester, not that much of anything (c'mon, even her rehab stint was overshadowed by Kirsten Dunst's hush-hush and low-profile rehab arrival). She is not exactly recognizable to a good number of people, will she really sell more covers as, say Siri over there or any other model? I don't get it, but I don't get Meisel's recent cover choices too and lord knows Meisel just wants to eff with us. I am not complaining about Eva, it's nicer to see her than any over-exposed, paparrazzi loving hipster/scenester out there, but this obviously has something to do with that campaign they shot for Calvin Klein. Smells fishy.

exactly ...this whole cover would not have happened if it wasn't for Calvin Klein

but then again, Meisel shoots all of his campaign models for edits and covers. And most of the other photographers pull the same trick. It's just how the industry works, I suppose. Sad but true

^^I suppose... I just find all this too... random. It's okay, I guess, I don't mind her.

I haven't seen Eva's work (not that I recall anyway) but she seems quite sympathetic in interviews.. and there's something slightly Sofia Loren-esque about her and this cover in particular, so I approve . I'm just happy it wasn't Linda.. can 80s people just get over her once and for all?..
