Well, shut my mouth wide open. Mikel's post further illustrates my point, though.

Well Vogue Italia has an established image throughout generations. The advertisers are very well aware of the situation they're getting themselves into, especially by choosing a publication that is known for the cutting edge and as Steven Meisel points it out; "breaking boundaries" images.... and no we are not talking about USA Vogue, nor is there a need to do so because they're directed towards completely different crowds. Look at fashion weeks!

Sorry your post just confirms my point, there is a huge difference(in my eyes) between the covers you posted and the latest cover with Miranda. My point is not based on the boredom you get from the images(although the objective taste) but the styling and look that is created. Then again, I just may be the blind individual who can't separate a commercial image from a fashion image.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how stunning this has turned out. Miranda looks fantastic, Meisel has done wonders.
There's something vintage Meisel about her editorial, I love it. The colour palette is so beautiful and warm.

Not that fussed about it being 3D. But I guess it adds that something extra.

Could you put it simply what is so commercially off-putting about the image? the smirk? the standard head shot? the dog? Miranda? I'm really just curious, as you seem to have a very keen perception of what is a fashion image and what isn't.

Personally, the more I stare at the cover the more I like it. It could just be because I am such a fan of the special demure & charm Meisel gets out of these girls with his simple studio shoots that I find so lovely, I could go without the dog for sure. But I love the editorial, especially because it does feel very modern day super..or as close as we could get to it at this day and time.

This is a bit random, but does anybody know how long it takes Vogue Italia to get to Sweden and where would be the best place to buy it in Stockholm?

I'm looking forward to this one as well! Since she'll be presenting her new movie at the Venice Film Festival, hopefully there will be an article on it.
