^I totally agree. How can you blame the photographer for a Vogue Japan cover anyway. I mean, aside from that hideous yellow Kate Moss cover, all the covers look technically the same.
You can blame the outfit, the styling, the model or the text overload, but not the photographer in Vogue Japan's case. You usually can't even ID a photographer based on the image.

Well.... if you were to compare his covers to Craig McDean's than yes, you can blame the photographer. Even I&V's G over the face phase was more attractive than this.

But, Inez & Vinoodh's G over the face wasn't down to them. That was down to the art direction at Vogue Japan, at the time. Craig McDean's cover shots were attractive, natural and flattering, I agree.

It's down to personal taste and what someone wants to get out of an image. I think Giampaolo Sgura does a terrific job at Vogue Japan and his aesthetics flatter Anna Dello Russo's. But on this occasion, I think Anna's styling lets the entire cover down.

AdR should focus more on her original title, this cover is such a mess, the styling is as cheap as her perfume bottle.

Kendra is a stunning girl, with an amazing face and just by the skin of her teeth she manages to pull off this extremely messy cover.
ADR is just way OTT in everything she does, so I cannot blame the photographer for this. It's pretty difficult to make a cover with a white background this haphazard, but all involved have pulled that off royally....somehow.
The majority of Vogue Nippon covers are just a right old mess lately.

Kendra in another look from Fendi F/W 12.13 with different coloured font would have worked so much better.
Plenty of black or simpler pieces that could have worked with any font and would have made a great cover but no they use the tackiest one.

This is pure Anna Dello Russo, everything about it screams her name. I can almost hear Fashion Shower playing in the background...

Being a HUGE ADR maniac I can't help but love this cover...it's so 100% ADR's style: bold outfit and overaccessorizing! It's definitely one cover that really catches your attention amongst the other fashion magazines in the newsstand
Glad they also showed one of those Ipad case...everybody said that was new it bag for FW12 but nobody used it

From a distorted photo on Instagram, Malgosia Bela by Willy Vanderperre is inside.

Well I can ID pretty easily the photographer for Vogue Japan
This is an obvious scura picture. Plain and cheesy...
If it was by I&V it would have more moviment.
If it was Sorrenti it would look more edited.
Its not that hard...

I second that. The derection of Japanese Vogue's covers has hardly changed--text overload, hyper-styling, boring background, and so forth--but it did look better when it was shot by I&V, McDean, Sorrenti and Mikael Jansson. ADR shares the blame for the gross styling though.
