I was thinking earlier, Lara's not the first model to be lauded for her breasts, but will showing them off so much narrow her career in the long-term? I'm wondering aloud upon the point.

Gisele's decision not to do topless (only the occasional all-bits-carefully-obscured nude for Vogue/W etc) despite the clamour over her chest, meant that she got the plaudits for being bodacious while still remaining bankably wholesome. She progressed beyond the boob-obsession that people had about her, by controlling it, limiting it.

To be honest, because there are thousands of topless glamour models all over the British press, in monthly and weekly magazines, and in daily newspapers, the sight of a fashion model stripping off to reveal a fine pair, doesn't have much novelty (to me).

That's why I like the cover; it's all about her face. Let's have Lara wearing some fashion, pulling some faces, showing off her hair. And let's have some nudes too, they are a lovely sight, but I hope this issue of VP will be more than a butcher's shop of slices of meat on display.

And the more I see her nude, the less I will appreciate her, and that will be a shame. The shock and danger will go, the specialness will go, it will become banal. What will VP do with Lara? We can only wait and see...

Well I don't intend to spark a debate here but to clarify myself...

Take Kate Moss' toplessness for example. In fashion, nudity seems to be much more palatable when it's a less womanly figure - this is not at all referring to weight by the way!! (In my previous post I was referring to a '12-year old-like' chest but these days you never know as the models keep getting younger and younger.)

Anyways I just think it's very rare to see full breasts in a high fashion spread. I commend the editors/photographers for choosing Lara because it breaks that mold.

Lara looks stunning on the cover! She has a very intense and appealing stare.

I wish Vogue Paris wasn't so expensive where I lived or I would definitely be buying this issue.

tigerrouge, I agree Lara has a beautiful body and it's nice to look at, but after awhile the whole "Lara Stone topless...again" thing gets old. And it would be so disappointing to see Vogue Paris take the exact road we thought it would: topless Lara with an intense face, and little or no clothing (fashion).

i agree with you on that. i love the fact that her body is all covered up on the cover. i'm sure she'll show it off on the inside content, she's got the best body in the business (and may i say, "out" of the business too) after all... but yeah she can definitely make an entire ed without showing it, she's a great model.

Regarding the "topless Lara" thing, why is it that big of a deal? Many other models before Lara have showed their boobs in countless editorials, Kate Moss is the biggest example of this but I've yet to see people jumping on her for it. The human body is a work of art in itself, and Lara's is incredible so why not show it off? Lara's nude editorials are in no way vulgar in my opinion.. And I'd be very shocked if French Vogue didn't have some pics of Lara topless, afterall it is French Vogue and it's Lara's issue.

Anyways, I was slightly disappointed with the cover because the press led us on to believe that the cover would be Bardot inspired. But the cover isn't bad at all, and I'm happy to see Lara on French Vogue again.

i think we'll just have to get used to this endless discussion. in all the threads in which lara's works are posted this topless thing starts... and we end up being part of it because after reading so many comments we can't help it, but i find the whole discussion really annoying. i still think it was a nice idea to cover her up for the cover though, showing that she has the face besides having the body.

in that aspect i'm disappointed too. i thought it would be that rumoured "et vogue... créa lara" cover... but still, it looks gorgeous.

I agree but it's not really jumping on Lara it would really be jumping on Vogue Paris for being unoriginal. Lara's body looks great in clothes so, as a fashion magazine, it would be weird if they showed no clothes. I hope to see a Vusi couture spread with appearances by Vusi. Lara would look hott with a RS purse and photographed by Mr. Ed
