you know something is wrong when there is not ONE image that I actually like of the main editorial.
AND I actually like Daria as a model, probably one of the most versatile models out there, but this is just bad. the lack of real direction and creative ideas in this magazine is astounding. the only thing in this issue that is passable is the Beauty editorial |

I agree. I love Daria so much but the main ed is so bland for me. I know all photographers recycle ideas all the time but this ed is a typical example of how Vogue Paris and Ines & Vinoodh reuse their concepts again and again and again.
Isn't there another good idea to present a long collection-theme ed? |

The main editorial is a big mess. It looks like they just took random shots of Daria in Vegas hotels whenever they felt like it. It's all very awkward. There's no real direction and Daria looks a bit blank in a lot of the shots too. As for Catherine McNeil's editorial, didn't Emmanuelle already do this theme a million times only with Isabeli & David Sims?

I was really disappointed to see Catherine McNeil's western-themed photoshoot after so many western-themed shots in Daria's editorial. Too much in one issue.

i think these long collection edits work so much better in a studio setting..for me anyways. the august 09 one in particular really stands out in my memory. regardless- daria
a 75 page only girl edit is something to be proud of, however repetitive the shots. |
