Oh man this is the biggest crap ever. They want to beat VI out their own idea. Horrible cover with no direction, concept or composition at all.

^ They had Naomi Campbell on their cover earlier this year when we hadn't ever heard about the VI project so I don't think that what's it about...

I thought that the cover was going to feature a classic French model and a more recent one, I was thinking Inès de la Fressange and Laetitia Casta but I like Noémie.I hope they feature Morgane,Audrey but I really doubt it.

I can't say I hate the cover, but I'm currently more interested in seeing what the content is.

how random, boring and stereotypical. at least VP doesn't need a "black issue" to have a black model on the cover.

Is there going to be a Leititia cover as well? The rumours were that there were going to be two models, unless they completely cut her out.
Anyways, glad to see Noemie but the execution leaves much to be desired.

Yeah she did share a cover with a white model during the February month, who was infront of her. Same thing when they put Gemma and Du Juan on the cover, where half of Du's face was covered by Gemma's hair. How often do we see a single black model cover from VP. Hardly once a year, not to mention twice. Liya? Was it two years ago, or even three?

^maybe if their poses were reversed somebody would say something about kate's arm around naomi's neck or, i don't know, there's always something to say about these kinds of covers... i think it's not enough to have a black model on the cover once in two or three years, but i still think it's better than make a whole issue and then just forget about it.

Not really!
Same ish different package for me. Especially when the black model is Naomi out of a dussin of black/asian/latino/indian models out there.
VI at least is making a stand for something, announcing it for a better change while VP surfs on the wave.

exactly!
whether or not they're just riding the wave, at least they're not advertising the fact they're using black models by building all this hype around a single 'black' issue

btw, the cover reminds me of the moschino ad by patrick demarchelier..

It's been 6 years, actually

Liya was on the May 2002 cover on her own...

I love Noemie but the cover is beyond dull...
