I saw your post before seeing the snaps and was looking for Carmen Kass, and then see the ageless Carmen Dell Orefice! Lovely to see her indeed.

Raquel's ed is really impressive, I approve. And I'm still mesmerized by Lara, I cannot stare at her for too long, and for whomever said Carine 'ruined' her, isnt being a model all about being able to pull off different 'looks' and be chameleon-like? That's what I've always thought, anyway.

I would give you karma BerlinRocks (like you're not already getting a TON) but I cannot for awhile. Someone give this dear karma for me. Please.

When does this issue reach L.A. ?

Raquel actually does a pretty good Debbie Harry impersonation, I think. I mean, you wouldn't call her a dead ringer for Harry or anything, but some of her expressions, particularly where her lips/mouth are concerned, really do capture Debbie's look.

Gloria Vanderbilt... and she nails the idea of her. Especially in this shot. Gloria Vanderbilt has a very sexy/naughty side to her... so Lara was perfect for this.

wow i'd never imagine raquel could look that much like debbie harry, jane how's styling was spot-on!
i don't think anna j was the best choice to channel diane keaton though... not because she doesn't look like her, but because the result was so bland, and i wouldn't blame the styling...
i'm in love with sasha's ed and - obviously - with lara's. i also like mario sorrenti's, very BB, but GOD, emmanuelle needs to take some time off, refresh her ideas, her styling went to "signature" to just obvious.

Of course, duh, Anderson Cooper's mom, stupid me. Thank you. I honestly thought Gloria Steinem, but that wouldn't make sense.

At first, I was a bit perplexed by the whole Lara as Gloria Vanderbilt concept, but it reeally shines through in her edit. The photos almost look like vintage out-takes of Gloria herself lounging around her grand NY abode. Lara is stunning in every single shot. Also, I love how the lighting reflects the clothes. There is a very warm atmospheric tone that is juxtaposed with a very harsh white light at times. This effect is also seen in the styling: white lace mixed with neutral, earthy tweeds and wools. Also, for some reason, this edit reminds me of Sorrenti's spread with Eniko in the August issue of VI.

Sasha's edit is SOOOO genuine and authentic! I think Sasha can enact ANYONE. She is probably the best "character model" working today. I still don't see Liza though. This is Edie Sedgwick pure and simple. The dangerous decadence, the child-like charm, the tragic expressions, the ELECTRICITY! Sasha IS Edie!

Raquel's portrayal of Debbie Harry is QUITE convincing, especially the shot of her with the blown out hair and the black Ray-Bans. My only qualm is with the styling-- it is a bit underwhelming. I think Jane could have went further. That certain New Wave glam and excess which Debbie Harry so perfectly embodied is missing. But the photos are wonderful regardless.

"Diane K." is FANTASTIC, a total styling tour de force! Anastasia NAILED the whole look! And Anna J. plays Miss Keaton quite well, considering the context we are used to seeing her in!

I really like the Sorrenti/Alt/Poly edit, but I think someone needed to double-check the reference before the issue went to print. This is not Brigitte Bardot AT ALL! Apparently someone confused BB with Verushka, that OTHER Sixties sex symbol. The African brush, the YSL Saharienne styling, the sultry, gazelle-like modeling, everything about this spread SHRIEKS Verushka, more specifically that infamous shot of her holding a musket! If only they would have re-entitled the edit, this would have made a flawless Verushka/YSL homage!

Tao Okamoto as Tina Chow are probably some of the most outstanding photos in the whole issue. Tao is just brilliant! A fragile, sad, flawless, gorgeous, mysterious porcelain doll!

And the Amanda Lear En Vogue is just great! I love the first shot with the fur jacket! Pure Seventies Disco Debauchery!

Overall, this is a FABULOUS issue of Vogue Paris. Can't wait to get my paws on it! I'm nearly salivating !

Lara's and Raquel's eds are wonderful...but Sorrenti's is disappointing and I don't really feel any Bardot inspiration, looks just like normal Sorrenti in the middle of a field

I like that she's paying homage to Gloria Vanderbilt... one of the remaning old-school heiresses when they used to mean something more than being commercial wannabees.

Very good issue, even though I'm not a fan of Lara's editorial.

I love it, Vogue Paris knows the meaning of the term "models of the moment", gathers the tops at this deluxe edition. Each editorial it's really good just like the cover, however, I would've love it for Sasha or Natasha but still, a perfect 10 to Carine & Co. It's an exceptional edition.
