^I agree, I don't read InTouch so I didn't know her either, actually the name Casiraghi was somewhere in the back of my brain but with the picture alone I could have never identified her. I find it interesting to see what the children of some royyals look like or grow up to be like but I also agree that I don't see what's automatically special about them, that goes for almost every celebrity though so I'll leave it here...
I don't mean to sound arrogant but I don't understand how people who frequent a fashion website and those who have thousands of posts to their name still have no idea who she is. Both her and her brothers frequently pop up on the "today's post" section on this website, and just recently it was announced that Frida Giannini would be making an outfit for her for the Global Champions Tour.
I have to chime in with everybody else who've said it's not hard to believe that people don't know who she is. I knew of her existence (as in she's the daughter of Princess Caroline), but I honestly had to think of who she was when I read the thread title. I certainly don't have a clue as to what she actually does and I really don't care, it's of no interest to me whatsoever. I never check the "today's post" section of the site either.

i've never been closely interested in celebrities, so if there is someone from a country outside of America that is somewhat recognizable to me they are either a musician or actor. I've never heard of her in my life... i don't have an issue with the cover and story at all it actually reminds me of old VP, but the lackluster-ness of the other eds is terrible, and is that a continuation of Natasha by Hans from last issue? I see that ALt likes to do that... does she not have the same budget as Carine did?

I don't either, you're being a bit condescending.
At the risk of being accused of beating a dead horse, you wouldn't know her from reading tabloids. She isn't a mainstream celebrity or a fame-wh*re, which I like about her. She's part of an iconic family that's very famous, especially in France and Italy.
She's definitely notorious enough in France to justify a French Vogue cover (though, as I say, probably not a September cover).
Beside, I believe all the people saying 'I'm not interested in celebrities' as some kind of badge of honor aren't being completely truthful. I bet they could name Lara Stone's husband or know details about Kate Moss' private life; know which designers hate each other or the sexual orientation and relationship status of various fashion personality, etc.
There are many ways to be a gossip hound that doesn't include reading People or In Touch.

Well knowing information is different than caring. I know who Charlotte Casiraghi is, but I don't care who she is.

Yet tabloids would be the publications to write about such "iconic" families, no? Maybe InTouch was a bad example as there are classier magazines about the life of the rich and famous. Anyway, you can't watch television without hearing who's engaged to whom or who's pregnant, even when I click on New Posts on tFS or checking my mailbox I get cluttered with gossip news. You have almost no chance to escape it that doesn't mean I enjoy it. But you are right, maybe it's good that I have not heard of her before, would be tragic if she was in the news because a sex tape of her leaked online or for whatever reason some people rise to fame.
Charlotte is also a Chanel girl though so I do find it weird people think you had to read InTouch to know who she is. She is Grace Kelly's granddaughter, she's from an iconic family, she's one of Karl Lagerfeld's favorites. That doesn't mean everyone here has to know her, but degrading her as some sort of C-list celebrity ŕ la Paris Hilton that you would only know about from gossip pages isn't really fair, IMO.
Her cover is well-deserved, I think. Besides, she's extraordinarily beautiful so I agree that there isn't so much of a difference between putting her or some random model on the cover. (And with Testino shooting it a model cover wouldn't have been more exciting either, see Freja's Vogue UK cover)
Okay, I was just responding to people being shocked that someone doesn't know her, as if she saved the planet.
Oh yeah she's the granddaughter and daughter of someone that alone makes her deserving, I forgot. What else has she done that I should know? I read that she's involved with a magazine, sorry never heard of that one either. Nobody said that just because we personally don't know her this is bad or that a model should have been on the cover that indeed makes no sense.
Oh and the Karl Lagerfeld argument obviously has no value, I can't even name how many models, actresses and socialties have been called Karl's muse.
Not that it's that important anyway, in a month there will be somebody else to complain about.
All I'm saying is that since people act like reading Vogue is so much above reading InTouch it doesn't explain not knowing her. Charlotte is featured in fashion magazines all the time due to her Chanel connections. But whatever, you obviously didn't even actually read what I said
A moderator will delete this anyway and tell us to write private messages and I don't give a about this issue or who she is anyway and that's not because I'm a Philistine. I hope I will never forget who she is because that's like a crime you know.
she may be photogenic but i couldn't tell by looking at this draaab cover shot. whether or not someone looks good tends to be a very debatable topic on tfs
i think what is more interesting than listing reasons why she is cover-worthy is knowing what media outlets people are learning about Charlotte and how much media exposure leads people to form this opinion? sure once you learn this info it may seem 'like duh' but perhaps that's more a reflection of level of personal interest placed than cultural relevancy, to begin with. ( is fashion personality and celebrity lumped together now? and i've always kind of placed royalty in a league of their own...)
i was in the 7th grade when Princess Caroline graced the cover of Harper's Bazaar shot by Karl Lagerfeld. and that was a big deal. i still have this issue. However even with this awareness of her mother i knew very little about Charlotte outside of her royalty connections. her Chanel deal while not surprising is news to me.
can someone translate her feature? i'm curious to see what she has to say.
i'm guessing some people are peeved with Charlotte's cover just cuz they'd rather see a model on the September issue. which is no big thing to me since i haven't been crazy about 99% of VP covers since i can't remember when...honestly VP could put a pop star on the cover every damn month for all i care as long as they did something creative, unexpected, beautiful yet challenging, tell a story and make me dream. pipe dreams.

I don't care about the girl on the cover, I don't even know who she is actually, but this isn't that bad. Nothing special but this is not the worst cover I've seen.
I hope subscribers will receive the FNO tshirt too.
They don't. There is a plan (they call that say poster) with Dewi Driegen on the cover and a lot of small pictures of her wearing differents designers. There is also the children supplement.
About the contents i'm not sure if there is something else to add .
Lea Seydoux, Maiwenne Le Besco and Valerie Lemercier are featured.
The FNO tshirt cost 8 euros, that's why the magazine costs 12,90 euros.
