Vogue Spain April 2011 : Toni Garrn by Alexi Lubomirski - Page 3

neither Toni nor Alexi typically do much for me but this isn't half-bad for VOGUE Spain. altho this does look very M&M, and VS does the washed out beigey shoot a lot, this does stand out from the rest: Toni brings a strong, sensuality and dare i say vaguely exotic appeal, while Alexi's soft, sandy lighting (esp in the last and cover shot) evokes images of the 'american west' a la Ralph Lauren. the black and white shots, are my least favorite; they seem rather forced with too much going on, stylistically. however, the last shot, actually would have made for a stunning cover image.

Lucky you. To get ANY international magazines, I have to go to Chapters (big bookstore chain) and it takes ATLEAST a month for ANY to arrive. Also, off all the fashion mags they carry (which isn't that many + the selection is meh), they never have Vogue Italia!

i love toni but cannot get into this spread, cover or any details of this shoot. not feeling it at all. maybe next time.

Love the shot. HATE the layout and the fonts. I don`t like the supporting editorial that much as well. It reminds me of their January 2011 editorial with Karolina Kurkova by Tom Munro.
