Great cover, and generally a good issue.

Really disliked the Young London feature though. Most young people in London aren't somehow related to royal's.

Yeah....I think UK Vogue always cashes in on blue-blooded connections with the stately homes, aristocrats etc. (as in REAL ariostocracy with titles). I think it is a little tired and somehow disengages the majority of the audience. It's a fantasy they create and if they keep doing it, I fear, they'll just lose touch with who their real readers are.

Liked the Arthur Elgort + Anja constellation, and the young London ed was kinda cute, although I would have preferred some sort of model feature, but I guess this became more genuine. It's just that some of those ppl are just not so photogenic.

Susie, I agree with you. Especially considering Mario Testino said himself that most of these kids featured were his friends children.
Young London editorials imo, shouldn't be in Vogue - because it doesn't represent the majority, and I for one don't want to read about it.

And don't even get me started on the silly 'Miss V' section.

I dont agree with you!Even do Vogue is a fashion magazine it has always feutered rich socialites, royaltes and their kids.So i dont see the problem with that, people who buy it know that its nothing new.And people who dont like that should maybe consider another magazine. This magazine has been for more than 100 years synonymous with sophistication, glamour and highly cultured approach to living.
I mean Vogue was founded in NEW York in 1892 and its purpose was to cover ,in the most tasteful possible way,the lives and milieu of the four hundred famillies at the top of New York society!
And in my opinion it hasnt changed its purpose,we still see rich peoples kids and socialites in the magazine. Is that snobish or elitist?Maybe but thats what Vogue always was about and i am afaraid it will be in the future!
Just my 2 cents to it!

It's a good issue (well, it seems), blowing ten bucks as soon as it comes out.

My criticism was aimed at UK Vogue in particular. I esteem it's history, heritage - of course I do! But at the same time, writing about thing like the London 'season' i.e. Ascot, Serpentine Party, etc and thinking that their readers actually attend these events is just silly. Yes, of course they should continue to cover these things as in some ways, these are very quintessentially British things but at the same time UK Vogue could do with edging it up a little like French/Italy Vogue and stop pledging it's allegience to Conservative, pearl strand wearing Sloanies......

Why do they like Guinevere so much? Stam would've looked better. I love the Young London editorial though.

I'm still so impressed that instead of just saying more models should be on the cover, this editor is doing something about it!
