Not a particularly interesting issue, this one. The cover is OK but I guess I won't be buying UK Vogue this month, which is a shame as I love the magazine.

Alexandra Shulman is outdated and has turned into VOGUE into a literary-context magazine with less emphasis upon fashion and avante-grade editorial but rather intellectual articles and engaging features. Not neccesarily a bad thing but the clientelle for VOGUE is an older woman and it does not resonate with younger individuals - it lacks relevance, i mean, Kate Moss in a couture gown and a parka? thats so Alex...but its not particularly progressive or aspirational. The tokenism is blatant on the part of Jourdann, the first ethnic model on the cover of Vogue for about eight years, i find it an insult that she is paired with two vacant, sub-par virtually unknown models (Rosie, Eden). Vogue needs a new editor, and soon.

Agree...Jourdan just isn't look that great on the cover...maybe I'm just getting tired of her...

I really like GVS's ed.

Rosie looks like crap
I jus dont like her print work..
her face is too chunky and commercial
4 my taste..Jourdan looks like they were trying to
make her look bad..Eden looks
like they just happen to put her there

I really wanted to see Jourdan in a stand alone cover. There's always the December cover

Yes, and the articles aren't even that intellectual because the people who produce them are constrained by being dinner-party friends (or wannabe friends) of the artists and writers which they interview. So they try to go in that direction but are hamstrung from producing truly incisive commentary.

That article in last month's issue about 'darkness' had the appearance of profundity but said nothing at all. Their human interest articles are decent enough, but at the same time, not any different to what you read in any other woman's magazine. Vogue is fashion, style, cultural change, industry news, shop design, the psychology of perception - experts talking about that sort of thing, not an editorial about the fashion editor's best friend's rose garden.

UK Vogue = people working in London, who believe they're in touch with important scenes, but who are actually suffocating themselves and their ability to inspire others, by not looking outside their world, assuming that everyone wants to see into it.

That horrible banner across the bottom is really bothering me
On the other hand, I am just pleased it's models on the cover. I never like Jourdan, but she looks good on the cover

I can't believe that's the same Rosie from the Burberry ads. What a different angle (and a better photo shop editor?) can do to make a swollen gigantor nose disappear! For me she looks the best on the cover although I don't mind Jourdan. Before I came here I thought it was Jordan with an OG (which made more sense).

Still in shock over Rosie...gorsh, girl will never look this good again. Very much appreciate your scanning, as usual, Skywire . Your crooked cover is excused .

A small straight-on image attached, from ebay.co.uk. The red banner seems to be there to even out the awkwardness of the three-person pose, which is unbalanced, too 'weighted' towards the right-hand side, and two girls bending their head to the left does not compensate.

The girls themselves are OK, but the way they're arranged is not good for a cover shot, which needs more simplicity than this; there are three people posing in three different layers, so there's too much staggered visual depth to the shot. Fine for an editorial image, but I do believe a good cover needs a simpler, sharper image to make an impact.
