I like the cover but I'm disappointed that they decided to go with Prada. They're trying to promote Ukrainian fashion, wouldn't it have been more appropriate to debut with a Ukrainian designer?
I love Daria but I think that the styling is horrible...
anyway I still do not understand how is it possible that country like Ukraine gets its own VOGUE licence - poor economy, low living standard, political problems, problematic level of democracy, bad international reputation and so and so.... hope the Czech edition will start this year

Would you keep that prejudice, please? I believe that despite the seeming 'poor economy', as you put it, Ukraine has a big market potential and a large base of fashion-conscious people as well as young talents. Which is after all the exact opposite of the situation in Czech Republic or Slovakia.
^ The headings read as follow:
"10 Ukrainian Top Models: First Time in One Photoshoot" (wonder who they will be)
"Nation's Pride: Daria Werbowy Sofia Rotaru Milla Jovovich Sonia Dedone"
"Main Trends of the Season: Flowers, Graphics, Japan, Frill"
"Ukraine in Fashion: First Issue"

Yeah, that's a bit ignorant and offensive, no? Besides, according to the EIC, Conde Nast people had been coming to Ukraine each year for the last 8 years prior to them finally deciding that the country was 'ready' in their eyes for a Vogue edition.
That's a great cover debut! Daria looks great and I love that Prada coat.

well, I do not want to argue with any of you, but I suppose that Ukraine is not your neighbor country, is it? Ukraine is a one big black hole in the CEE region, paradise for corruption and smuggling (especially the trade with fake goods), I am sure that all of you have never been there (in the real suburbs, not just Kiev) and have never experienced anything in real, so please do not judge, because I am living not so far from the Slovak/Ukrainian Schengen border crossing
the only reason why Ukraine gets its own Vogue licence is the existence of small, but very rich and influential social class of entrepreneurs and parvenus who are willing to pay hard money for it which Condé Nast in these hard times for printed magazines can not miss.... and this is the totally different approach than the czech publishers have
Impressive debut !! The cover is fantastic, great styling and Daria looks gorgeous. I wish they hadn't used a silver masthead though. A black or dark blue one would've been better I think.
