yeah, its ridiculous. conde nast love him and he likes magazines like w and vanity fair because he has this pseudo artist pretentious thing going on.

personally, it always irks me to see men on the cover of a women's fashion magazine without a woman. also, i abhor brad pitt, but lets not get into that.

charlize's cover is great. i love the expression and pose. she looks very powerful

Charlize's cover is stunning. It's not the most amazing cover I've ever seen, but it's the kind of cover that would stop me in my tracks while perusing a magazine rack.

As an aside, the very photoshopped quality really doesn't bother me since, save for the extremely dewy skin and perfect lighting, that's basically what she looks like in real life...when she's done up to the nines, anyway.

you can always rely on charlize to pull out a good cover, she is so stunning in blue. although i don't really like brad, i think his cover is pretty decent.

It's great that W chose two of the most high profile before awards season blows up. Smart move. I am disappointed with the amount of photoshop on Charlize, the woman is beautiful, emphasizing with too much digital alterations is not highlighting her beauty.

I think his being on the cover has more to do with the fact that he's almost certainly getting an Oscar nomination for Moneyball, the hit film he starred in this year and he got some pretty rave reviews for his turn in Terrence Malick's Tree of Life, also garnering some Oscar buzz (though imo it's far from a sure thing). Since this is the Hollywood issue and Brad Pitt is an A+ list movie star with two buzzed-about performances in well-received films this past year, and three new films slated for release in 2012, it's not at all surprising that he's on the cover. He has just as much, if not more, right to be there as Charlize.
