It's more "front of book" (I didn't know that was a term though). You know how there is always a black page with the date before the eds? The only thing following that special black page are the Hilary story and two art stories.

eta: and I do think Hilary is a good cover girl since she's not as overexposed as some celebs. But then they could always use a model.

Same here W used to be one of my favourite magazines and that's why I decided to subscribe to it. Unfortunately, since then the issues haven't been as good as years past. This cover is a nice start to the year though (even if it isn't a model). I like it.

I know the cover is a tad simple but Hilary looks stunning. The layout is a hit and a miss... it could be better.

Hilary's face looks totally different than it's used to! Very beautiful cover indeed, quite intimate. The editorial is disappointing in total, very boring and flat, the styling is a huge miss as well. Only picture that works for me is the fourth one. The male model looks dull in every shot. W magazine needs another booker/cast director.

fantastic cover..i LOVE it..simple but strong...like a great 90s supermodel cover..

as for the editorial...blah...yuck..it's disappointing imo..

The fourth picture in the editorial is really stunning...the rest...it could have been much better. It was a good concept, but it didn't work.

I like the cover...is she wearing Calvin Klein? It looks like it.
