Give me a break.
I agree, I don't understand why so many people dislike Angelina. How can anybody deny that this cover is beautiful? i like Angelina as an actor and admire her and don't really see how she's worthy of hatred or something less harsh while Karlie Kloss for example (nothing against her) is praised for slumping or "posing" in front of a camera and giving a blank stare. My one problem with the cover is that it does seem like more of a tabloid issue mainly because of the text but numerous celebrities have been on W before, so what's the big deal?

Gosh, there are so many claws out at one time. I think there might just be a hint of jealously floating through these pages.

Angelina is one of the best actresses I've ever seen. She's a good person too, she's not shallow and mediocre like many of today's "celebs" (think Lindsay Lohan or Blake Lively). She cares about people living an ocean away from her and actually takes the time to do something about it instead of just whining. That alone sets her apart from your average actress/singer. She's also extremely gorgeous and photogenic. So let me get this straight...she's nice to look at, interesting to read about and is famous??? Why would ANYONE want to put her onto a cover of a magazine??? How ridiculous!

Some people SERIOUSLY need to get over themselves. Especially the ones who think they're so superior that they can dictate what is art and what is not. The moment something slips out of your comfort zone you automatically attack it? And you actually are offended by the fact that W maybe put Angelina on the cover to generate sales? Um, they make that magazine to make money. Without money, it wouldn't exist.

"Art" doesn't mean extremely tall,**** and masculine faced models decked in strange couture pieces posing in ridiculous, ungraceful positions with Edward Scissorhands hair and clown make up. That's not what "fashion" is either. It may not be your "type" of art, but it is, indeed art.

Since when were all men strong, sexy, and smart as you implied? It is obviously upon each individual to be those things. I think Angelina is a staple of what all people regardless of gender should be: giving, smart, and strong.

I don't understand why it's presumed that a dislike of this cover is tantamount to a hatred for the Jolie-Pitt family. If this cover were Gwyenth Paltrow by Chris Martin, Nicole Kidman by Keith Urban or Vanessa Hudgens by Zac Efron the reaction would be very similar. Either way you would have a non-artist, non-photographer taking pictures that amount to being personal snapshots on the cover of a major publication with the headline reading 'Art Issue'. If people are critical about that sort of thing happening it isn't simply a matter of them disliking the subjects.

This isn't an issue of personal dislike insofar as it's an issue of legitimacy. As I said before, this cover could have run for any other issue. Why the art issue? As for saying "if it was a model people would like it" I still say that if it was a model it wouldn't have run on a cover. At all. Period. These are not editorial images - Angelina is not wearing Prada lace or Lanvin heels, she hasn't been styled or dressed, this is not a fashion editorial. These are personal snapshots of two people who just so happen to be famous. If someone took out their Holga and took a bunch of pictures of Karlie then sent them into W they would be sent right back with a politely terse form letter that reads "We currently do not accept submissions"

And some people need to SERIOUSLY get over their Jolie-adoration and stop criticizing those people who don't like her or the cover the way they do.

Because nobody gives a damn about Karlie, 99 percent of people don't even know who she is so can you blame them for sending them back? Angelina Jolie's personal life is talked about A LOT and W snagged a chance to showcase a glimpse into her life to the public and would be crazy to turn that chance down. Truth is, people want to see this more than Karlie wearing Lanvin on the cover. If you don't like it then don't buy it.

I like how many beautiful covers and great issues of W there are, and people choose to focus all of their energy on the one they don't like.

it's funny how W names its issues, kate hudson's was the "fashion" issue - and for THAT one the "if it was a model people would like it" talk would totally make sense. i'm sure they're not questioning the meaning of fashion or art, they don't want us to look at it and discuss the concept of art and artist for many pages, thinking of how subjective these concepts are, bla bla bla. there's nothing pseudo-dadaistic about it, nothing bordering intelligence, it's pure moneymaking voyeurism...
