that's pathetic....
VOGUE and ELLE both do that. They switch photo covers every month usually using previous covers from other countries...

It's not a matter of coming up with their own ideas and it's not pathetic. It's a matter of clout and budget. Oftentimes the foreign editions of magazines like Vogue and Elle have small staffs and extreme budget restrictions. Charlize Theron and Mario Testino aren't going to collaborate on their own for Australian Vogue, and even if they would, it's possible that the magazine couldn't handle the expenses. It's far cheaper for them to pick up an editorial from American Vogue (considering they are both Conde Nast titles) and run it as their own. And because most Australian women don't read American Vogue, they don't know that the editorial has already run months prior in another edition.

Dec/Jan French Vogue has Sofia Coppola on the cover. There's info about it in the Star Style section (it has it's own thread), but here's the contents:

1)
Sofia photographed by:
David Sims
Inez van Lamsweerde
Mario Testino
Craig McDean
2) a collage of Sofia´s personal memories and photos. e.g.:
elizabeth peyton painting
the oscar
tarantino
lost in translation set pictures
marc jacobs
3) sophia interviews francis ford
-----
and then:
edit 1: marija +2 by craig mcdean
edit 2: natasha poly eating all sorts of things by terry richardson
edit 3: daria by inez posing ŕ la jessica miller
edit 4: unknown by david sims

I believe the nov. issue had Kate Moss on the cover, a sports themed issue. Go back some pages in this thread...the info should be posted.

Jennifer Garner wearing Badgley Mischka on the cover of US Marie Claire Feb.
Content: designer Rebecca Taylor hosts the "Steal vs. Splurge" section, which is very pared down compared to past MC eds. Alyssa Sutherland in spring preview. Then, a 2-pg cosmetic/hair ed and MC's obligatory 101 Ideas.
No new ads except for Beyonce for Loreal.
Verdict: A very thin issue for Feburary. I like what I saw, but wish it could be more substantial.

That issue of UK Vogue hasn't hit my neighborhood yet. Strange...

BTW, Kate Bosworth on GQ & Movieline. Not a fan.

I haven't seen the issue on newsstands here yet...you might want to check the Star Style section as there was a thread about that issue there. sorry...
