Burberry S/S 09 : Lily D, Eden, Emily H., Alexina G. & Richard W. by Mario Testino

Quote:
DISHING THE DIRT: Burberry has gone back to nature for spring, with an ad campaign shot on location at Petersham Nurseries, the posh garden center outside London that boasts a restaurant with dirt floors. The campaign, shot in color, breaks in the February issues of magazines including Vanity Fair, Vogue and W in the U.S., and in Esquire, GQ and Harper’s Bazaar in the U.K. The campaign was designed by Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey and shot by Mario Testino. Models Lily Donaldson, Eden Clarke, Alexina Graham and Richard Wyndham slouch and pout alongside actor Alex Pettyfer; musicians George Craig and Sam Beeton; and photographer Emily Hope against a background of greenery. Burberry has focused on outerwear — consistently a big seller — as well as the newly expanded denim and sport collections, jewelry and shoes. The Gardener Bag makes its debut in the campaign. “I wanted the mood to be gentle, relaxed, romantic and about a quiet, beautiful sense of luxury,” said Bailey. “This campaign highlights the spirit of our wonderfully crumpled classics.” — S.C. Beautiful! I love that they took the idea of Derek Jarman's garden (Bailey's inspiration for Spring/Summer 2009).

Ten times better than last season's BORE. And finally, the aesthetic is back to HAUTE fashion.

My only complaint - wish there were more images!!!

This is really nice. Much better than those b&w campaigns they had for a few seasons where they all seemed the same to me.

I am loving this too-not just because it is in colour, but because the greenhouse setting is a very nice one.

Really lovely. I think the greenhouse setting is wonderful. Eden looks the best of all the girls. A nice change from Burberry...I haven't really liked any of the recent Burberry campaigns.

And WOW!!!...those silver/ bronze flower necklaces are STUNNING! I'm usually a bit bored by Burberry collections, but I enjoyed the SS 09 show and this showcases the clothes very well.

Wow... I usually love Burberry but this is really annoying me. Perhaps I'll think different when I see it in print... but right now I don't like it at all.

Thanks for posting for us Ed..
