I agree with those who say that Daria is the perfect Celine woman. ALAUU put it perfectly; "cool, effortless, classic". I also agree with hommeboy10; Daria for me, has always resembled Phoebe Philo. Not only aesthetically, but in spirit too. Thats why she was featured so heavily in Philo's Chloe collections. It only makes sense that this connection would translate into a campaign for Celine, no?
Also, I don't understand the fuss over the skateboard? The Celine woman, is after all, the 'everyday' woman who has a job, who runs errands, who is active, who is not a victim of fashion, etc. Why wouldn't she skateboard? Why wouldn't she not do anything? Besides, this campaign seems light-hearted and a bit of fun. Since when did fashion advertising campaigns have to conform to the glossy perfection of what is stereotypically associated with the fashion world? I think here, Teller is trying to show a different side of the Celine woman, so that the aesthetic doesn't become too bourgeois and contrived. Thank god for Tellers take on the Celine woman. Frankly, it is a breath of fresh air.
