I like the editorial feeling of the two images posted, but will have to see the whole spread/story to be convinced. That said, seeing something this pedestrian and primitively working-class is a little sad in the middle of this recession.

I wish I could see some fantasy, a sense of hope, opulence and glossy wealth to lift the spirits. If Chanel won't do it, then who will?

After looking at it a couple of times, I think that it is really quite beautiful. The scenery and the clothes look so lovely together. I never expected this from Karl Lagerfeld and that makes me like it even more.
lagerfeld displays his genius once again. he's somehow managed to create a totally different mood than he did with the selfsame clothes on the runway. while i felt the pink, green, black, and white collection rather boring during fashion week, this ad campaign makes these clothes look pastoral and even profound.

without words, this campaign re-establishes the seriousness that we all know a chanel suit conveys. also, it sounds anachronistic, but oddly it associates chanel with the sort of getting-back-to-basics, getting-back-to-nature impulse many people have in down times.

the chanel woman in the perfect chanel suit is wandering into the wilderness. it's almost philosophical. i love it.

i've relooked at the collection ...
and there are A LOT of black looks, actually .... only approx. 10 pink and green looks.
too bad we won't see them. i remember everyone hated the 'mint'-green used. but i loved it, so ...

It's quite um.. rustic? Definately not what I'm used to from Chanel, less hard-hitting and dramatic than usual, but certainly not unpleasant. I'm glad Freja's back.

I don't know what to thing about it. It reminds me of that bad Chanel campaign with Claudia (on the beach).

I need to see more.

I am undecided on this one. At first glance I hated it but when I clicked on a thumbnail and saw the ad in a big size, it grew on me...but I am still not sure, have to see more

It's pleasant, I like it - simple, I honestly find Freja & Heidi awesome together, through I don't think this shows the potential of them together.

Karl Lagerfeld is getting in touch with his rural side. The designer just returned to Paris from Vermont, where he shot Chanel’s fall-winter campaign with models Heidi Mount and Freja Beha Erichsen. “It was very cold, the sky was blue and the light was stunning. And the people are so nice,” Lagerfeld said Monday night at the opening of the “Court Pomp & Royal Ceremony” exhibition at Versailles. The backdrops for the shoot included a big wooden barn. “I’ve never seen such a beautiful barn in my life,” he enthused. Meanwhile, Lagerfeld marveled at the magnificent embroideries on display at Versailles from royal wardrobes from Germany, Austria, Russia, Sweden and Denmark. He noted they were all realized in France. “And it was not like shipping today. There was no DHL,” he said.
