Freja, the setting, the color are all great.....but then you see Heidi....

Ugh.

I'm hoping the rest of the images will be a range of different scenarios - because it'll be a sad day if Chanel resorts to lesbianism to spice up a campaign. One image of closeness could be an enigmatic exchange, but if recurs, it'll be too much of a cliché.

Isn't the first rule of photography not to cut out limbs unless absolutely necessary?? It make the picture awkward!! (unless this particular image is cropped)
not happening...at least is has a tone of voice...

I kinda like the new pic and I really don't understand all this 'Heidi hate', she is really suited to this campaign, as is Freja, so IMO they work great together for this imagery.
Heidi was well suited to the last campaign also.

uhh...

next please. Won't we see one good campaign this season? LV blows, YSL is horrid, Chanel is stale beyond comparison, Prada is questionable, Dolce is just tacky, Burberry is weak, and I am sure Versace with Gisele will again be as insufferable as the previous two seasons.

No hope this season. I MISS 2006!!!!!!!!

I love the dreamy feel of these ads. The last ad is hauntingly beautiful and Freja just fits the somber mood perfectly

while i disagree with your sentiment with respect to these ads, remember that advertising is a product just like anything else. it's often one of the first expenses to get cut in tough times. and just like with anything, you get what you pay for: don't expect to see the spectacular advertising we saw some years back when everyone had money to spend on outlandish campaigns. houses have to do more with less. they have to concentrate on keeping their core customer and reaching out to a new customer.

they can't just do a flashy campaign as a morale booster anymore.

I would be happy if I never saw a flashy campaign again as long as I saw enough imaginative ones. Imagination and a sense of spirit are what's missing from a lot of campaigns, not the sight of money. You dont need to hire a circus to achieve something interesting... but maybe you do if you're established and have grown too used to having money to play with, and now it shows.

Perhaps some people have fallen into being creatively unfit, and too dependent on the tide of spending and optimism to add power to their work - but current conditions offer the perfect chance for any experienced person to really exercise skills they've accumulated over the years. When budgets are slashed, now's the time to bring that special 'extra' out of the bag - which should be the reason they're getting hired the first place, instead of someone else.
