This reminds me of the Valentino Spring 2008 fiasco.

If you look at the beginning of that thread, there are accessories shots that seem to aesthetically disparate to the main Ready-to-Wear campaign.

I think its because people want to see these images so fast that the Houses choose to whet people's appetites with mysterious foot/hand bag/shoe shots.

I'm surprised no one thinks it could be Edita. Karl likes her. I'm hoping it's Edita actually...

if that is the main ad campain ... and if it carries on like that ...
i think it's one of the most clever thing Karl has done in ages ...

Details of the outfits (and shoes, there, obviously) is really something needed in the industry at the moment .... maybe it's by making the details bigger than people will pay attention to the entire outfit .... i don't know ...

but i think it's beautiful ... and elegant .... and discreet ...

but once again, are we even sure that it's the main campain ?

I'd love to see this as a start of a movie-like campaign.
And more blue dresses would be wonderful. Some moonlight wouldn't hurt either.

Gemma or even Daria would be dreamy! (I always want them to get all the big ads)

why are the models so important to you ? would be mad if there were no models ?

i'm wondering the same ...
but one point though ... here there's no real access. (bags, jewels ...) it's outfits !!

but i wouldn't be disappointed if the whole campain is just about details ...
i think it's interesting ... it's not fabulous in the sense you cannot see the outfit in its globality ... but you could think that it's one option to reply to soooo many images we see everyday ... without even paying attention to anything ...

I agree with Berlin... it really is quite clever. I've been looking at it & thinking about it.

I'll wait to see more.

waiting...

I like it because it's simple and clever. It teases the curiosity without creating any serious visual frustration though... it doesn't say yes, but it doesn't say no... it could easily be a parody or a special treatment for those who ask themselves who is gonna be the next Chanel face, but it's not done in a cruel way... well not for the moment, unless it's really gonna be Karl himself behind the curtains No offense Karl

I'm crossing my fingers for: Coco or Sasha!

But is probably Heidi Mount, well who knows!

I might be overreacting given that we've only seen one shot, but if the rest of the campaign continues in this direction of beautifully captured closeups from interesting angles, I think I might end up loving this.

That photograph is beautiful, unusual and makes me want to see more.

..actually.. there was a rumour that gemma was returning for a big campaign.. that would be VERY cool!...and very clever too as with all the newbies in other campaigns it would be sure to generate some press...but if not.. well I'll settle for sasha...
