so now that spring ads are starting to appear, what were your favorite (and not so favorite) campaigns from last season (f/w 08.09)? and i'd love to hear why you like them (or didn't)...

MAXMARA by Senejan and Hye Park
GUCCI by Lily, Abbey..

least favorite:
YSL by Naomi
Her poses look very tacky and and perhaps she was performing tasteless table dancing?..
and her hairs annoy me so much that i wonder if they were making a commercial for LUX SUPER RICH..

Gucci, I know ppl hated it, but I love the ambience of it. The poses were out of this world/awkwrd, which i like. And then, there's Eniko! Not loving Abbey so much though.

Fall 2008 lacked genius campaigns, for me anyway.

My favorite was Gucci; for its whimsical and ethereal attitude. The location was great, the casting was great, the photographers were great. All in all - it was the best of Fall 2008.

The worst campaigns were Prada, Chloe (Only 3 images?!), Marc Jacobs (disappointing considering the genius of his previous campaigns), YSL (Naomi on a pedastool? Seriously?) and Lanvin (that awful green tinge and the blurriness were just not working for me. And in a PARK? Why?).

My top 5 of the best add is:

Hermes - MCB

Lanvin - Raquel and Liya

McQueen - Alice (only 3 pics by still great)

Prada resort - Ymre (I don't know if this is fall or spring but I like it)

Ferretti - Anna, Magda, Siri and Victoriya

I also like:
Chloe with Anja and Angela (there was only 3 pics so it was kind of dissapointing),
Belstaff (with Maryna, Isabeli and Lara),
YSL (with Naomi and beauty with Coco),
Givenchy(MCB, Lara, Natasha, Lakshmi).

I hate:
Prada with Linda (the most horible add for fall season) - Sasha could do it million times better!!!

Oh, I really love this kind of thread

Love:
Valentino - Love Peter Lindbergh. Love the cinematic vibe and Angela's expression.
Giorgio Armani - fantastic colors
Donna Karan - I'm not a 'huge' fan of Kate Moss but she looks stunning there. I actually love almost all the ads she has ever shot and I think they explain why she is still big in that way. I mean, there hasn't been any bad result starring her. She IS versatile. Somehow it's strange that I'm not a fan of her.
Juicy Couture - Tim Walker can do no wrong. It's the most fairy-tale ad I've ever seen.
Chanel - Classic
Oscar de la Renta - I always love to see the sky background in any pics and both Anja and Magdalena look gorgeous there.
Vera Wang
Miu Miu - very M&M
David Yurman - I've always been a huge fan of this brand's campaign and collected all of the ads. This is not an exception.
Donna Karan Resort - Not only because I love Karen Elson, but she looks bloody gorgeous there and I just love the clothes.
Jacob & Co. - Natalia looks so cute and elegant there.

Miss Dior Cherie - Tim Walker, again

Chanel Beauty - Natalia's face is just amazing.

Hate:
Dior - I do love Craig McDean but not as for Dior!
Roverto Cavalli - It was recycling of concept from Vogue Nippon ed featuring Lily D. which I really didn't like. The models' hair and dresses were beautiful but the campaign was just awful. I don't understand why most of the campaigns are now under I&V's hand but it was the most awful thing, I'd say. Take back M&M!

Nina Ricci - I found she isn't that photogenic in both Blumarine and Nina Ricci campaigns. (sorry Natasha..)
Versace - Isabeli was just OK, but Natalia was completely out of place. She even looked ridiculous there.

What a miscasting..
Celine
Lanvin - The pics themselves are beautiful but they are so dark that I can hardly see the clothes.
Prada - Linda was gorgeous but, from Sasha to Linda? I just couldn't adjust myself to it..

Loved:
Lanvin - The models and styling were great, and the special effects were awesome
Gianfranco Ferre - Malgosia and Julia by Meisel

Giorgio Armani - I loved the lighting and photography
Phi - I loved the concept and Coco and Karen were amazing
Stella McCartney - Kate and Frankie were rocking it, perfect

So-so:
Dior - Daria is amazing, but the background and styling were bad
Chanel - Just a few great shots
Versace - I was expecting more
Calvin Klein Collection - The idea was great but Suvi

Fendi - Interesting but boring

Hated:
Prada - Linda's expression
Burberry - Rosie was completely wrong for it
Balenciaga - Balenciaga can't do ad with celebrities, please bring back models! And Charlotte's face was so bleh
Roberto Cavalli - Awful background, weird poses...
Miu Miu - Even though Vanessa is gorgeous it didn't work
