An a-temporal atmosphere, a background shifting from deep blue to saturated black and Abbey Lee Kershaw’s face which grabs the viewer’s attention with her enticing eyes and a femme fatale attire alternated with the equally fascinating beauty of model Adrien Sahores.

This is the mood of the new Fall Winter 2013-14 advertising campaign by Gucci: striking and emotionally charged images shot by the renowned duo of fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot.

Glad to see Abbey is back, but her comeback is the only thing that i'm glad of. Even i'm not glad at all about Abbey herself in this campaign. I'm waiting till the full images released and still it doesn't change my opinion. The collection, the photoshop, the styling, everything is just...wrong? I can't believe it's M&M. It's more like Mislead & Mishaps rather than Mert & Marcus. This is the worst Gucci campaign. Ever.

That I think the colour palette is cool but the overall execution of everything is absolutely terrible. Abbey looks appalling and the uninspired lighting, photography and amateur photoshopping makes this campaign one of, if not the worst.
Even just against Gucci's own usually better standards.

Am i the only one looking at the horrible images and thinking "They might as well have just cast Ming Xi, she would have probably done a much better job as the model.. And Abbey already pretty much looks like her..

But i also agree with one of the previous comments, i do not Abbey as a Gucci girl either..

Overall, this campaign just sucks. It looks like something that would have been an amazing idea but executed horribly.. Just horrible. Nothing about this campaign from any point of view is screaming "Gucci" to me.. Other than a "couch" that has made a reappearance from glass (from Natasha and Raquel's OG campaigns) to leather..

A thousand times better to be totally honest with you. I wasn't fond of the images at first but seeing a few inside British Vogue's September issue has settled my judgement. The post-production looks more subtle in print because in the digital images it's very blatant. So, for me, I think print has done this entire campaign justice.

After seeing the campaign in real life for the first time yesterday, I have to agree with vogue28 completely. The retouching is not so evident, so thankfully the images look more expensive printed in a magazine (especially the shot of Abbey in the purple dress ).
