Reminds me of Prada Menswear Spring 2011.

Nonetheless, a handsome fella.

I guess you can't have a David Beckham fragrance without having the ad campaign feature David Beckham, but I still feel this would be more effective and credible if that wasn't his face next to the bottle.

Why wouldn't he be in his own fragrance campaign? That is the whole point of celebrity fragrances, their face and name helps sell the product. Why else would celebrities make a fragrance?

^ Clearly, you missed my point completely.

--> Spelling that out: David Beckham will obviously promote "his" fragrance, but because he is David Beckham I feel the ad has more to do with him than his fragrance, his contribution to which I in any case doubt goes beyond wearing it and appearing in the ad campaign for it. I don't like celebrity "by-products" in the first place, but Beckham in particular has no credibility with me as anyone interested in bringing their own product on the market for any other purpose than making money. (Every new product on the market is intended to make money, but they're generally also intended to serve a purpose. Beckham, however, doesn't seem like the kind of person who would care what it is, what it does or how it does it, so long as he looks good and the $$$ keeps rolling in, which is why his face next to a fragrance is of no value to me except as a source of mild amusement.)

How did I miss your point? I was pointing out exactly what you just said. Do you think Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton and Britney Spear care about the product other than how much it will profit? Look at Justin Bieber and his nail polishes. You think he cares? They're just putting their face and name on a product, simple as that. It always about the celebrity, never the product.

1. You asked me why David Beckham shouldn't front his fragrance campaign. I never said he shouldn't.
2. You're talking about celebrity fragrances as if I don't understand the phenomenon, while I'm talking about the ad campaign. All celebrity fragrances are what they are. But David Beckham in particular, as an individual and a representative, does not sell this fragrance to me (even if I'm also not the intended buyer).

To summarize in the plainest way I know, a (celebrity) fragrance among others though this is, David Beckham particularly makes it especially hard for me to take this campaign seriously.

That's how you missed my point.

Wow, you totally read way too much into it.

My question was rhetorical. It wasn't directed at you. And I never even insinuated that you don't know what a celebrity fragrance was. I never said anything you stated was wrong, there's no need to be so defensive.

The campaign or your responses? Either way, I call it like I see it.

My response. I never argued what you stated or deemed your comments as wrong. All I said was it's a celebrity fragrance, therefore it makes sense to have the celebrity be in the campaign, in regards to your original post. That's all.
