One little and insignificant detail, those dresses from that Helmut Newton shoot are Galliano summer 97, which means that pic is from late 90´s

And, why is everyone blaming on Meisel, is he the one who proposes a styling or does fashion house´s teams come up with a story and Meisel makes it happen?

No video for this season..? Seems a pity since movement would have probably kicked those rather static images to a higher level...

Actually, I've been thinking about it recently and I really don't think it makes a good Lanvin campaign.

Sure, the shots themselves are fabulous and would make a perfect editorial, or even ad campaign, but I don't see them representing a brand that Lanvin is. Their ads used to be really magical and full of charm, take F/W 04 or F/W 05, even S/S 08, which I didn't like very much, but it still had this unique Lanvin vibe. And speaking of Spring 2008, I'm really disappointed they didn't show the opening parachute dresses. On the other hand however, the presentation of the red one still leaves something to be desired.

It may be fierce and glamorous, but it's not really Lanvin for me.

like i said on tumblr this completely reminds me of the photoshoot scene in Eyes of Lara Mars when the women are fighting in the street.

I always associated Lanvin with more class and purity.

as do i- but when thinking of class & forms of purity- i don't often associate that with dragging someone in a gown or dress by the ankles while you both are wearing evening make-up.

was referring to the campaign direction.

Browsing the new issue of Numéro I thought this shot of Nimuë would make a brilliant campaign for this season. Taking the sombrero apart, with a different hair & make-up perhaps, it could be a perfect direction.
