She's worth it!
Ethiopian model, actress and humanitarian, Liya Kebede, is the latest face of L'Oreal Paris.
"It is important for me that I represent a brand that reflects my personality. I'm pleased to play a part in sharing the uniqueness, the charisma, and the incredible stories of women of all origins and from all regions of the world," the 33-year-old said in a statement on Monday.
In 2005, she was nominated as a Goodwill Ambassador for the World Health Oganization (WHO), for maternal, neonatal and infant healthcare. A few months later, she established the Liya Kebede Foundation, raising money for the Durame Hospital in Awassa, Ethiopia, with the goal of providing healthcare material.

can't wait for her ads! when did her estee lauder contract run out?
She's definitely worth it! I felt so bad for Liya when Estee Lauder didn't renew her contract. She's such a classic, classy beauty who is perfect for beauty campaigns. Back then, I thought her dropping by EL may have been because of race issues. Of course, 5 years later, EL going for the whole multi-racial thing. At least L'Oreal has been embracing this for a long time (despite the skin whitening of darker celebrities claims). Though, with so many faces at L'Oreal already, she's really joining an already bulging roster, so I guess she'll be just another bit part player alongside actresses, models and musicians, which is a bit sad. I can't help thinking if she got a Lancome contract (or still had EL) she'd get featured so much more. Still, very happy for her. Liya still looks amazing after over a decade in the game.
