the "Lohan To Represent Chanel" rumour
Quote:
From contactmusic.com

MEAN GIRLS star LINDSAY LOHAN has signed up to front a new campaign for fashion house Chanel.

The redhead actress met with the label's designer KARL LAGERFELD for a special photo shoot earlier this month (DEC05) - and she's brimming with excitement over the results.

She says, "I'm shooting with Karl Lagerfeld! It's amazing. I'm so excited. I think it's for a magazine."

In the autumn (05), Chanel dropped British supermodel KATE MOSS as its face, after she was photographed snorting cocaine.

x1000. Why, oh why?

I like Lindsay Lohan, despite everything. She's a guilty pleasure. I want to see her do well. But this is a bizarre choice. I can't associate her with Chanel at all.

The move just does not make sense, mostly from a marketing/advertising standpoint. Kids in their teens aren't buying Chanel (for the most part)... Kate Moss is somebody they should have really modeled around, if they refused to have her. Lohan? She doesn't embody Chanel at all. That's horrible representation and I see it as a big mistake.

I knew Karl's taste was a bit questionable, but I certainly never expected this. Luckily one bad choice cannot take down Chanel.

On a somewhat related note, there's a photo of Lindsay in the Jan Bazaar actually looking classy for the first time ever. She's wearing Lanvin (!), and has deep brown hair. I said I would give props to Rachel Zoe if and when she could make Lindsay look classy, so ...

But wait ... I wonder if Karl is actually responsible. Could he have been so sick of looking at Rachel's parade of fake blonde skeletons that he put one of them in a campaign so he could style her properly, hoping that by this one selfless act he could take us all to a better place?

come again? Why would they pick Lindasy of all people? Chanel seems so classy and Lindsay seems so trashy.
